Is Free Republic under Digital-Astroturfing Attack?
June 14, 2015 | Isara

Posted on 06/14/2015 2:48:41 PM PDT by Isara

We heard the news about Hillary's fake Twitter and Facebook followers and her operatives pretending to be her regular supporters. Is it possible that it also is happening right here on Free Republic Web site?

Free Republic is a premier Conservative site. Most of us know who, among the presidential candidates, is the most Conservative. Our candidate happens to be effective in his campaigning also. Our enemies know that and fear him the most. Naturally, Free Republic is turning into a battleground.

We don't know who they are: other Republican campaign operatives, GOPe, Hillary's camp, Democratic operatives, union thugs, Castro brothers, ISIS, LGBT, ACLU, etc. But they all share one common goal - to take Ted Cruz out. Since trust is Ted Cruz's strong point, they are trying to erode our trust of him.

You may notice that they came in the threads about Ted Cruz in teams, 2 or more at the same time. No matter how much we gave them the facts, these same people went to the next thread and repeated the same misinformation over and over again. This is why I think we are under attack.

Their strategies are:

I've detected that some patterns of their posting were shared among these operatives. Is it possible that there are a few of them pretending to be a lot more, just like Hillary's Twitter and Facebook followers?

It may come as a shock to you, but sometimes people on the internet sometimes just tell the truth.

I suppose you could check my posting history here at FR to see if I am one of your #3 examples or not. ... Go back a few months: before I realized that Cruz was just another politician, not the potential savior of the nation.

Your proof is, basically, that someone disagrees with you.

I'd settle for the H1Bs if he stopped all illegal immigration and removed any government benefits from the ones who are already here so they self-deport.

You're not going to get anything better than that.

Cruz is just working on his fund raising right now, and he is so far the most successful in that area.

Cruz is a very astute politician; he won’t make the same early mistakes that choked Palin off from the money.

Anyone who came here after 2007 gets an extra-special once over from me. I was in intelligence and I know about psychological operations and counter-intelligence. There must be an eight-story building in Chicago just packed with old Herman Miller cubicles, stacks of Mountain Dew and Starbucks and old Pizza Uno boxes.

2. TPA takes away the Senate’s constitutional right to a 60-vote cloture vote.

You're claiming that legislation has the power to change the Constitution?

Really?

There ya go.

This site has been through all this repeatedly.
Where little cliques and party hacks run around wolf packing others because they don’t seem to support this and that etc. Not long ago, Bush was their big celebrity. We know how all that worked out and what followed him.

This is not party politics as usual.

Those days are way gone and the only thing left is big dollar propaganda, bribes, and back door influence deals.

Most Americans have a GD belly full of the lies and BS coming out of D.C. involving both the corrupt U.N. globalist supporting political parties.

And it’s about time but might be too late to ever take America back by traditional means from ever expanding corrupt controlling government.

Amen and amen. Cruz is great. But increases of HIb et. al. will destroy middle class. Support for free rather than fair trade will do same.

But that is not what Isara is talking about.

The constant injection of disproven “facts” on every thread is not done by “one of us.”

Naaah. No moreso than normal. Controversial issues bring people out from the woodwork.

The problem, in a nutshell, is that Ted Cruz has shown himself as a globalist and a hustler Folks at FR aren’t kind to either.

And by the way he is not “our” candidate by any stretch. He was favored by the majority of FReepers and probably is the most popular candidate. But he stepped in it big time with TPA and patriot act II and earned the vocal opposition of many, including myself.

You have been here for less than 9 years.

And none of the 5 points you think you make have the slightest to do with Obama.

We haven't even had the first primary and the General Election nearly 17 months away. Why the paranoia? What's the rush? Each POTUS Election Cycle in here likely ones being campaign workers and/or party officers in their ward/precient county, or state, begin the demand of Forum Allegiance to their candidate and in that frenzy comes purges of ones who make valid points and ask valid questions with very valid concerns. The 2000 and 2004 elections did the most damage to FR.

Few will now admit that ones who questioned Bush policies were in fact right and many of their concerns became serious issues we now live with like the expanded presidential powers and new federal overlord agencies he just had to have and many in here cheered for. Questioning Bush policies was blasphemy and many tried to get others banned for it. I see the same pre-election nonsense starting up again.

Pre-Bush Free Republic was a very different website. Many moved on after the 2000 purges. Yet later on when solid hard core conservatives signed in they got flames. An example? http://www.freerepublic.com/~notchosenname/ Freeper notchosenname. He didn't stick around long but the poster was John Lofton a well known Conservative Christian commentator and writer. He could be wry at times but got to the point. Although Lofton wasn't banned some still were calling for it. Ones who likely didn't know Conservatism from FOXNEWSISM.

It's June 2015. I'm not sure who I will support yet. It's too early and things change fast. I know so far the ones I won't vote for. Christie, Bush, Paul, Huckabee, Graham, Trump, are all on my No Way No Matter What List. Cruz & Walker are on my maybe list and have potential if they don't blow it. Remember it's still early and they still both have a very long ways to go. Cruz I'll watch real close as well as Walker. If anyone running gets too chummy with US Chamber of Commerce and K-Street they too will be off my possible list and on my No Way list. It's called holding their feet to the fire and demanding accountability to We The People not We The Donor Corporation.

I was against FTTA for Bush so why should I be for it now? Our Congress won't address & fix far more serious issues destroying our nation and yet they waste precious time on this crap? Who for I ask? For We The People or the USCOC and other special interest? Because Cruz says it's OK I have to say it's OK then is that it? That isn't how I decide things. If Jeff Sessions ran I'd still not say he has my unending loyalty either.

Please can we wait till at least next July before we start the traditional forum bloodletting {purges we see every presidential election} of those who don't go along with the ones demanding blind allegiance to their anointed choice no matter how big a sellout or how wrong they are?

“Name some names, let’s look at some posting histories.”

I accuse RKBA Democrat! He has openly and notoriously accused Ted Cruz of being a globilist shill, a conservative hustler, called him a betrayer and even compared him to Judas Iscariot and hoped he enjoyed his 30 pieces of silver! He has no shame.

Now y’all feel free to dig through his posting history of 12000 plus posts and get back to us in a few weeks....

Typical strawman attack!

Isara is talking about repetitive posting of false “facts.”
