Former students from Eastern Washington and Howard Universities told BuzzFeed News about their classroom encounters with Rachel Dolezal, who taught courses in Africana studies and studio art.
Rachel Dolezal once did not let a student participate in a class activity about race and culture because she did not appear Hispanic enough, the student told BuzzFeed News on Friday.
Dolezal, president of the Spokane, Washington, chapter of the NAACP, gained notoriety Thursday when her parents disclosed that she has been passing herself off as black for years. The revelation has prompted questions about the other aspects of Dolezal’s life, including claims that she has been the victim of hate crimes and received threatening letters.
The student — who, like many others interviewed for this article, asked to remain anonymous — told BuzzFeed News that she took two courses with Dolezal during her freshman year to fulfill academic requirements at Eastern Washington University.

Actually she checked off white, black, and Native American on her profile so I guess that makes her tri-racial. She does claim to be bi-sexual which is no surprise.
In this culture, skin pigmentation is EVERYTHING, and character is only a handicap.
Both Dolezal and Jenner are self-identifying as something they’re not and expecting everyone else to play along. But Jenner is claiming he shouldn’t have a perfectly normal body part and should have other parts - that really is mentally ill.
Dolezal has been lying about her ancestral background. Much the same way that someone might identify as Cherokee when there’s no real evidence of a Cherokee ancestor.
Maybe she does need psychological help, considering how far she took the lie. But... I don’t know... I think she’s just been lying for so long that she got caught up in it.
Amazingly, the NAACP seems to be standing behind her... so far. It'll be interesting to see if she steps down this week.
Leftists are obsessed with rigidly categorizing people by race and what they do when nude. This individual was so obsessed with it that she invented a racial persona for herself.
Liz warren tried passing as Indian. If she had been telling the truth she would gave gotten a benefit from that racial identity.
