Fox News Megyn Kelly finally aired her big, much-anticipated interview with Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, in which they opened up about their son Josh Duggars public confession that he molested several young girls, including his own sisters, when he was a teenager.
The first time it happened, they explained, was when their son came to them, crying and saying he had touched his young sisters when they were asleep. Michelle Duggar said, We had one ray of hope in that Josh had a tender conscience.
There were more instances afterwards, Jim Bob Duggar said, in which their son had inappropriately touched his sisters over their clothes and a couple of instances where he touched them under their clothes, but it was like a few seconds. And, as he noted, his sons victims didnt seem to understand what had happened to them until it was subsequently explained to them.
They got very emotional as they spoke to Duggar about how they felt they failed as parents and how they came to the decision to send their son Josh to get therapy. Later on, Kelly brought up 19 Kids and Countingwhich has been pulled but not cancelled by TLCand asked, What would make you launch a reality TV show about your family, given this past? Jim Bob Duggar said they werent worried because the records were sealed and they had dealt with all this years ago.

Look, I’m not going to be able to convince you and you’re not going to be able to convince me...we apparently have very different views of things in general. I believe we live in a fallen world and we ALL are sinners. I have my religious beliefs that I TRY to follow (and failing to do that more times than I care to admit) and I’m sure you have yours also. So I’ll go ahead and live my faith as best as I can and leave it up to you to live yours. But I’ll not participate in bullying the Duggar family and certainly not in the gleeful and hateful manner that I’ve noticed much of.
When the truth is brought to light we are called haters.Sounds like the homosexually mentality.
Oh, please spare me with the “bullying” stuff.
Otherwise, I agree with your post. I suspect we’re both just plain old Christians, you and me both. Whether we’re fans of the Duggars has no bearing or influence on our Christianity.
I don’t think you should be silenced, that’s the big problem in the world today with LGBT people trying to silence religious people for example.
I’m trying to share my experience of being angry with other people and hard on them and their religious beliefs and jumping to conclusions that their religious beliefs lead to bad things happening to them.
I really believe the Duggars are entitled to believe the way they do in a free country called the United States of America and so are the LGBT crowd for that matter.
Of course I don’t agree with either group in the details of their beliefs and lifestyles, but that’s OK......
Truth hurt?
What is off putting to rational people is the vitriol that naive moralists like you are heaping on this family, it is certainly over the top if not outright unseemly.
You sound like the idiot liberals. All bluster and pontificating and no logic, facts or reality. Not to mention your outright bigotry for people of whatever the particular brand of Christian faith the Duggars hold.
I am just waiting for you to attack them for praying to their sky god.
The long and short of it is that you sound like a lunatic with your raw hatred for these people. It is disgusting and you ought to be ashamed of yourself.
Not with the 5 year old.He went under her clothes as was stated in the report.
I bet she takes drugs and is always drunk too.
That is probably why the Duggar’s reported the son to the police. I am not defending them or their son. I am pointing out the hypocrisy of those who are attacking them and their children for something that they gave Alena Funham a pass on.mlena Dunham’s actions were even worse and of much longer duration and she is unrepentant.
Lena Dunham doesn’t think that she was wrong to molest her baby sister.
Lena Dunham was older when she molested her baby sister, too. As she described it, she was left in the cat to watch the baby and decided to take her diaper off and explore the baby’s vagina with her finger, where she found Legos stashed.
More than 35% of all sex crimes are child on child and more than 90% of offenders are boys.
The predominant age of the offenders is between 12 and 15. Most of their victims are under 10. Many are incestuous often stemming from naivete, curiosity and momentary indiscretion. Yet so many people believe that these children are monsters when as many as 95% are never accused of a sexual offense ever again. The recidivism rate is almost non existent, particularly when the parents get involved and get the kids mental health treatment. But hey their boys and have penises so they are by default abusers.
Welcome to the great new World in which women & girls are forgiven every transgression and shown infinite levels of sympathy but men and boys are deemed irretrievably disordered and evil.
What this entire episode shows is that any parent of boys who discovers this type of abuse, IE touching, even groping of a sibling, would have to be outright stupid to ever go to the authorities.
It is people like Katie the Arrogant that make the world a more dangerous place for all children.
Here is a link to a great informative article about child on child sex abuse:

My friend’s daughter, who was molested by a teenager, said that it started out by playing doctor and three years later, it was full intercourse. She was 12 and he was in high school, but it started when she was eight or nine.
The girl was in sixth grade and she told everyone that she was having sex with this boy and was worried that she would get pregnant. No one believed her.
Like Justice Clarence Thomas said during his ordeal:
..” high tech lynching”..
“The Duggars didnt report this to the police”
The Duggars say Josh, Jim-Bob, and a family friend went to the police department and talked to whomever was there at the time. How do you know they’re lying?
Just catching up on this, but wanted to say I appreciate your post. The amount of backlash, hatred, and false statements directed at the Duggars is astounding. They’re not perfect, and their decisions weren’t perfect, but wow, this is overkill.
Jealousy????
Hey, you cowardly pervert-apologist, have the guts to ping Freepers when you talk about them. You've been here long enough to know posting rules.
For the record, I’m not a part of their religion. I don’t agree with everything they teach. But, I don’t agree with many other denominations either. That doesn’t mean they aren’t Christians or espouse those values.
I’m not sure what about their program isn’t “wholesome “ ? Maybe I’m missing something.
And 20 kids a tad over the top? In my opinion, it’s a lot. But it’s their choice. Who cares? They support their own, don’t depend on govt handouts, and they even give back. They contribute to society. ALL of them, even the kids. They teach their kids work ethic, life skills, and they are always somewhere doing something to help others.
And you are right. They were asked to do the show because of the crazy amount of kids they have. Not because they are Christian. But that’s not why THEY do the show. They do the show to, in part, share Christ, and they do that through their actions.
And as far as the bar and beer joint comment.... well, I’ve heard that excuse from Christians for years for to go against Christians getting out and actually being witnesses. Some say Christians shouldn’t do to sports games, because they sell beer, for example.... difference is, people go to bars for only a couple of reasons. And they’re mostly sinful. A strip joint is inherently sinful. A Christian can not be a part of those things without participating in the sin themselves, for the most part. They go to sports games or watch TV or MANY different reasons. A Christian can participate and keep their integrity intact.
And yes, several commenters here absolutely allude to the fact that it’s unforgivable. Some will say it straight out.
No one labeled anyone who isn’t a Duggar fan as unchristian.
I labeled those who acting unchristian as unchristian.
Unforgiveness, judgemental comments, lying about others.
You have lied repeatedly about the Duggars. You have tried to disparage a whole group of people just because you don’t believe the same as they do.
I would love to know how they are destroying themselves.... Nevermind. You can’t see the situation as anything but the caricature you built of a group of people way before this all came out. You already had your opinions....that makes it difficult to be objective. But it makes it easier to mock and name call doesn’t it?
You even attacked me on here for stating the truth and then you lied on me by saying that I said something that I didn’t. THAT is called bearing false witness.
I sure hope your kids are grown and that your family never sins or makes any mistakes.
Who defended sexual perversion?
Please try to refrain from lying when answering.
From your post #132: "But these cant be Christians commenting with all this hatred on the Duggar threads. So that makes it a little easier to stomach their vile they are spewing."
Let's keep things truthful here.
"I labeled those who acting unchristian as unchristian."
Don't play word games. You said it---be woman enough to own it.
"Unforgiveness, judgemental comments, lying about others"
I don't need to forgive Josh Duggar; I'm not one of the minors he molested.
What do you have against judging? The Bible tells us to judge, as long as we aren't engaged in that same behavior, and I'm not a child molester. As a Christian, you should have no problem differentiating between right and wrong.
Besides, I've seen you talk about religious idiocy and kooks, so don't try to wrap yourself up in sanctimony about getting "judgmental."
"You have lied repeatedly about the Duggars. You have tried to disparage a whole group of people just because you dont believe the same as they do."
Show me exactly where I lied about the Duggars. I'll wait for you to type it all out...take your time.
"I would love to know how they are destroying themselves.... Nevermind. You cant see the situation as anything but the caricature you built of a group of people way before this all came out. You already had your opinions....that makes it difficult to be objective. But it makes it easier to mock and name call doesnt it?"
What, like calling people liars, not Christian? The kind of thing you're doing?
I truly find it interesting that you seem to think one has to fawn all over that strange, creepy family, or else one must be unChristian. Why is that? When did they become sacred?
"You even attacked me on here for stating the truth and then you lied on me by saying that I said something that I didnt. THAT is called bearing false witness."
So you truthfully said some on this thread aren't Christians, but when I called your attention to it, I was lying. That's a good trick...how's it work?
"I sure hope your kids are grown and that your family never sins or makes any mistakes."
My family isn't concealing any baby-gropers.
Repeatedly sneaking into your sisters' rooms at night to forcibly fondle their privates, and groping the crotch of a five year-old on your lap, are not mistakes.
"Who defended sexual perversion?"
You. Again...by calling it a "mistake."
"Please try to refrain from lying when answering."
Again, show me my lies, and be specific.
