Fox News Megyn Kelly finally aired her big, much-anticipated interview with Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, in which they opened up about their son Josh Duggars public confession that he molested several young girls, including his own sisters, when he was a teenager.
The first time it happened, they explained, was when their son came to them, crying and saying he had touched his young sisters when they were asleep. Michelle Duggar said, We had one ray of hope in that Josh had a tender conscience.
There were more instances afterwards, Jim Bob Duggar said, in which their son had inappropriately touched his sisters over their clothes and a couple of instances where he touched them under their clothes, but it was like a few seconds. And, as he noted, his sons victims didnt seem to understand what had happened to them until it was subsequently explained to them.
They got very emotional as they spoke to Duggar about how they felt they failed as parents and how they came to the decision to send their son Josh to get therapy. Later on, Kelly brought up 19 Kids and Countingwhich has been pulled but not cancelled by TLCand asked, What would make you launch a reality TV show about your family, given this past? Jim Bob Duggar said they werent worried because the records were sealed and they had dealt with all this years ago.

“During the entire interview she just looked up at her husbands, hung on his EVERY word it just gave me the creeps, almost in a worshiping way!!!!! VERY creepy family!!!!!”

The couple love and respect one another. That may be something foreign to your experience if it creeps you out.
Just how would you define that, on this site?
It’s amazing how this has become an anti Christian feeding frenzy.
I am watching CNN do a focus on this covering it for several hours and they have 3-4 guests attacking the Duggars and 1 guest somewhat defending.
I am not that religious, but I view this as very courageous on the Duggar’s part to let themselves be interviewed . Tthe CNN anti-Christian crowd was very clear that hey did not want to talk about the fact that all the kids involved were betrayed by the police department and by the court system that failed to protect their identities. The authorities violated some very serious laws.
It was quite amazing that the CNN anti-Christian crowd smelled blood and wanted to know why the Duggars did not go to the police the second they found out about their son’s behavior. The CNN crowd did not want to admit that in that very same interview it turned out that the detective who interviewed the son was later convicted himself of engaging in child pornography, that the police released sealed records and that the court did not do anything to protect the kids. Basically the CNN crowd wanted the Duggars to turn over their son to a corrupt police department, a corrupt police chief, and a corrupt system that turned over the identities of the kids to the tabloid. That is a great solution.
Maybe they had fears about what the authorities were going to do and as we have learned the authorities failed the kids on an epic scale.
For some reason that is all being dismissed and irrelevant. The way the authorities failed the kids is horrible and it could be argued the authorities molested the kids in their own ways. This was not supposed to happen. The police chief who released the details to the tabloids is now being defended. Why?
It takes tremendous courage for the parents to get in front of this and deal with it for all to see. Media people are snakes and cowards for the most part and they are dishonest as we can see on CNN.
As I said I am not very religious, but you can see the hate directed towards these people just pure hate. It is really the fashionable thing these days.
Was Jim showing much respect for his wife, daughter and her fiancee when he did this out in public on national tv?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVjRiQw9KLw
They all looked pretty uncomfortable to me and it is certainly not something my father would have done to my mother in front of the children.
The Duggers or whatever they call themselves.
I adore and respect my husband, but I don’t stare fixedly at him when he’s talking as though he’s some kind of oracle.
“Was Jim showing much respect for his wife, daughter and her fiancee when he did this out in public on national tv?...”

He loves his wife and his belief is that it is OK for a Christian couple’s kids (and potential son-in-laws) to know that they love one another. He was saying that marital love is something that is OK after marriage but not before. That is something that many devout Christians believe...you may not believe that and that is OK.
Did you watch the video? It had nothing to do with what he was saying. It was what he was doing. Dry humping your wife in front of your children on national tv isn’t exactly needed to show that husband and wife love each other. It did exactly the opposite. It showed that Jim had little respect for any of them. His wife was clearly embarrassed and uncomfortable and so was his young daughter and her fiancee.
Either you didn’t watch the video or you think that dry humping your wife out in public is okey dokey and just showing love and respect for her.
How about if he grabbed her breasts? Would that have been okay with you too? Gheez. It’s unbelievable that there are some here that are defending these people like some liberal left wingers.
Just because someone claims to be a Christian doesn’t mean they are. These people are CULT followers. They follow the teachings of a man who himself has been accused of sexual improprieties with young women. But I guess as long as the predator has an R after their names they are one of us and need to be defended come hell or high water.
We have no idea if these people really even believe in God. We only have their say-so. No one knows what is in someone’s heart except for God. You have to look at people’s actions to get some kind of clue. This family has a very low regard for women. I can’t seem to find anything in that to be admired.
Of course I watched the video or I wouldn’t have responded to your post. I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree because our worldly experiences likely vary substantially.
Tell him Granny.Drag molested kids to do an interview to stand up for their son.Go home, stay off TV. At this point it’s abuse.
They’re not weird because they’re different from me.
They’re weird because they’re Gothard cult members.
That photo is of the Duggers??? None of them look anything like that now.
I don’t recognize anyone in that pix.
Well, that’s your opinion to which you are entitled. I guess I’m entitled to my opinion also...and that opinion is that you and a number of others attacking the Duggars because of the way they LIVE their Christianity are weird. And I also think that your comments are reeking of jealousy.
I just watched about thirty seconds of that. I have never seen any episodes or even a clip from that show before. Just wow. I think I would go Lorena Bobbit on my husband if he did that to me in public or in front of our children. How very disrespectful.
Fair enough. But I think your opinion is simple-minded and childish.
What, exactly, should a person be jealous of when it comes to the Duggars?
Because I have no desire to be a member of a cult dreamed up by a sex pervert that dictates every move I make, how I dress, wear my hair, etc. I’m not pining to have some man tell me I have to cover up neck to feet, like a Muslim.
So what am I missing here? What exactly do these strange people have that no one else has?
It’s as though they, the Duggars themselves, have become a cult to the people who worship them.
Was that the clip from the golf course? If so, it was disgusting.
Yes. Disgusting.
“...So what am I missing here? What exactly do these strange people have that no one else has?
Its as though they, the Duggars themselves, have become a cult to the people who worship them.”

What you are missing is that the Duggars are living their faith...as do many others (but perhaps not in your circle as it seems strange to you). A lot of folks admire (but none that I know belong to a cult that worships them) them for firmly holding to their faith in the midst of a corrupt culture. A family that actually lives their faith is foreign to many...in particular it is likely foreign to those joining the mob to participate in the online bullying.
Living their faith? Is that what you call it?
We have a video clip of the father grinding himself against his wife’s butt and asking, “Did that turn you on?” Then he turned to his teenaged daughter and her fiance and said, “We can do that because we’re married, but you can’t.”
You think that’s pure and modest and admirable? Nope. I don’t believe for a second that you do. I think you’re so deeply wrapped up in believing that the Duggars are some kind of pure, glowing wholesomeness that you can’t admit the truth about them to yourself. And that is nothing but idolization.
Come to think of it, though, considering that the Gothard cult was founded by a serial sex pervert, I guess it could be called “living the faith.”
