A Pennsylvania newspaper has issued an apology after it printed a letter calling for the execution of President Barack Obama.

The letter, printed on Memorial Day in the Daily Item of Sunbury, called the president the “coward-in-chief” and called for his execution “by guillotine, firing squad or public hanging.”

“Hey Barack, would you care to address the nation and expound on your grandiose plans for defeating this JV team which is whipping you soundly?,” W. Richard Stover of Lewisburg, Pa. wrote in the 370-word letter.

The newspaper issued an apology Thursday, saying there was “no excuse” for printing the letter.

“No bells went off when the editor handling the letter ............

What is a Ramadi?

Recent national news reveals that ISIS has recaptured Ramadi in Iraq. I assume that we’re expected to ignore the loss of Ramadi to ISIS. Our lead-from-behind coward-in-chief has been strangely quiet on the subject. While he seldom misses the chance to run his mouth on any subject that suits his agenda, apparently he’s having trouble discussing a situation which has become a complete debacle and for which he alone is responsible.

After all — we’re supposed to be friends with our enemies. By all means — expedite withdrawal of U.S. forces, contrary to the advice of those military commanders who cautioned against withdrawal. But their advice was ignored and many were purged because they refused to follow someone so grossly incompetent in the politics and practice of warfare.

So now we’re learning the results of spending billions of taxpayer dollars and thousands of American lives that were expended in the initial capture of Ramadi. Our esteemed leader proclaimed that we should withdraw because the Iraqis were offended by the presence of American troops in their country. So we bailed out — leaving behind billions of dollars of equipment and ammunition, which was promptly captured by ISIS. Yes, this is the same highly skilled organizationthat our misguided leader calledthe JV team.

Hey Barack, would you care to address the nation and expound on your grandioseplans for defeating this JV teamwhich is whipping you soundly?

The saddest part of this situation is the realization that the American blood lost in the initial capture of Ramadi was apparently lost in vain, due solely to the gross incompetence of our commander-in-chief.

To the families of those fallen heros whose blood lies on the sands of Iraq; don’t you think it might be time to rise up against an administration who has adequately demonstrated their gross incompetence?

I think the appropriate, and politically correct, term is regime change. Forgive me for being blunt, but throughout historythis has previously been accompanied by execution by guillotine, firingsquad, public hanging.

I have absolutely no reason to expect that current practice should be any different. The end result is elimination of the problem, the method is superfluous. When society dictates, the end always justifies the means, otherwise the actionwould not be taken.

W. Richard Stover, Lewisburg

Nope. He clearly crossed the line. I don't care who the President is, you don't suggest he should be eliminated by execution unless you want the Secret Service knocking on your door.

Yes, liberals routinely called for Bush to be killed without any repercussions. Liberals are also rioting, burning down neighborhoods, looting stores and murdering police. It doesn't give conservatives a pass to do the same thing.

Well at least they didn’t make a movie about him getting executed like liberals did to GW.

Well since he's taken office I've counted 17 acts of treason by him (hence my tagline) and the code for treason states quite plainly the top punishment for treason is death. But I guess nowadays treason is perfectly acceptable when it comes to Democraps.

18 U.S. Code § 2381 - Treason

"Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States."

So, if one says Obama should be tried and executed for treason, that is crossing the law?

The problem is that half of Americans can’t understand basic English sentence structure. The letter does not call for that.

All the boneheads see is a mass of words, including the individual in question and the methods mentioned. Just like the TSA agent who arrests you for yelling to your friend Jack: “Hi Jack”.

He did not ask for Obama’s execution, he explained history.

Wow. So wrong on so many counts. Truly pathetic.

Literally-speaking, what he wrote called for

...the execution of ALL the Administration imbeciles...

Kudos to the intelligent chap's writing skills; they didn't comprehend then and they continue to demonstrate their own gross incompetence.

Not quite a call for execution, just a statement that treason of this magnitude used to merit execution using methods that are no longer approved in our country, but either way this is not something I would support. Obama is by far the most dangerous threat America has faced in our history, but execution would give our enemies a martyr. I'd rather keep Obama as an effete loser who failed. It would be far better to imprison that traitor for 80 years - a decade for each year he will have spent in our White House, destroying our country.

It would be far better to carefully repeal every law and executive order from these eight terrible years without giving the traitors any room to claim victimhood in demanding that we keep some part of this destructive legacy. I don't want revenge against the Destroyer, just restoration of America as a free and prosperous country. Let Obama live, just lock him away where he can do no more harm. Let him either learn from the terrible damage he has done, or watch in bitter loneliness as America is restored to its status as the constitutional republic it was supposed to be.

Now if someone would grow a little backbone & start the ball rolling.........

A little backbone, sick and tired of being abused, in retaliation for a dead dog, beat up family member, or a family member killed while serving, there are a lot of things that can get that ball rolling.
