None of the remaining eight female candidates going through the Army Ranger School made it out of the first phase of training at Fort Benning, Ga., defense officials told Fox News -- though they scored high enough to try again as early as next week.
The candidates were the first women to train for the elite force as part of a program that began in February.
While they did not do well enough to move on to the next phase of training, an Army Ranger statement said the eight women -- along with 101 men in the same situation -- will be "recycled," meaning they can re-do the training phase in an upcoming Ranger School session.
A total of 60 women were originally slated to participate in Ranger Assessment Phase (RAP), according to the Pentagon in January. The Army Times reported in February that 100 women went into the pre-training phase, and in April, 19 women qualified for the first training phase, known as Darby. Within days, that number was down to eight.

Of course, once they start to adjust the standards, the numbers will change.

To the level a male child of 12 can qualify.
The thousands of deaths at the hands of girls who can’t hump her 200 lb fellow soldier out of harm’s war will be at obozo’s and libtards’ doors.
I am sill waiting for feminazis to demand that medical science allow men to give birth.
Equality, right?
Way before that happens, I hope Ted will reverse all that.

Or Scott :)
FWIIW: My first vote as a Texas Citizen was to vote for Cruz. Arguably the proudest moment of my life.
But I was in WI when Scott fought off the lies of the feminazi left — he did what he said what he would do and took the teeth of of the Bumble.
He was amazing in how he stood there in the wind of the MSM and the detractors and repeated, patiently, what he stood for.
I am good with Cruz/Walker or Walker/Cruz.
sounds good to me. Does that give us a state we usually don’t get? I know Texas is ours.
Hi centurian316,
My Ranger nephew lost some 40-45 pounds while going through the second and third phases of Ranger school. He didn’t have it to lose. The physical activity and limited sleep and calories really strips the weight off. He asked me to pin his tab on at his graduation as he said becoming a Ranger was about endurance. If a candidate didn’t endure to the required level, they could go again. My memory is the first phase was the least physically demanding. The mountains and the swamps were tough for any human.
I admire anyone making the effort to attain that status. I hope the female candidates that attempt again will not have lower standards. I don’t think they will.

I think either ticket gets us SW USA.
I still don’t understand what happened? how and when did Ohio, Florida and Virginia become purple or worse?
My God, Reagan took New York and CA!!
Several thousand Yankees pour into Florida every week, maybe more.
I keep forgetting that I’m in the minority up here. I love Manhattan but hate the liberals. and Staten Island, where I live, is pretty conservative.
Ranger school has been described as “Two months of no food and no sleep”.
My family has been in Florida since the 1700s maybe longer. That is not that uncommon in this area, (The Panhandle) but even here it is beginning to change.
My BIL’s Sister married a New York State Trooper from Upstate New York. They are the two most conservative people I have ever met.
Upstate is. NYC is a liberal mess.
I loved it even 10 years ago, the city.
Now I am older and there is less and less reason to stay
Despite what the Pentagon says, on a lot of military message boards that usually have pretty good info, the word is that all of these women failed badly. By the standards by which Ranger School has operated in the past these women would have been returned to their units, not allowed to recycle.
come on now, everyone gets a trophy.
Once we get past the obstacle of allowing women, it should not be that difficult to work on allowing blind, deaf quadriplegics to qualify, especially those who are transgendered or transspecied (not sure about the spelling of that word). And why should the dead or those who were never born be automatically disqualified ? Rocks and moons of Saturn would probably be explimentary members of Special Forces. But I draw the line at moons of Pluto - that’s a stretch.
Yes, it is a difficult program. I asked my nephew if he ever got close to ringing the bell. He told me that when he was in the mountain phase in the Appalachians, they had just crossed a stream and got soaking wet. They had to remove their clothing, temperature of 35 degrees, and wind of 30mph. One of his friends saw the listless look in his eyes and prevented him. His inspiration was the small 50 cent piece of cloth that said “Ranger.”
He told me that one of the purposes of pushing the limits of candidates was to demonstrate that the human will is much more powerful than what they knew. He told me the idea is that a Ranger would never be in a situation that was tougher or more grueling than the qualification period.
The last phase, the “Swamps,” was brutal. Being chin deep in water for 20 out of every 24 hours for 20 days. My memory is that they were limited to 800 calories per day.
I see him, and his fellow Rangers and I am encouraged about the direction of our country. His Ranger training served him well on his tours in Afghanistan.

I would not surprised to learn that this is correct. I expect that all decisions will be examined with a microscope. If no one succeeds, the hue and cry will begin to lower the standards.
