CONFIRMED: Court records show Freddie Gray was receiving a structured settlement from Allstate Insurance and attempted to convert it into one lump sum in early March
EXCLUSIVE: The Fourth Estate has learned that Freddy Grays life-ending injuries to his spine may have possibly been the result of spinal and neck surgery that he allegedly received a week before he was arrested, not from rough excessively rough treatment or abuse from police.
The Fourth Estate has contacted sources who allege that Freddy Gray received spinal and neck surgery a week before we was arrested, and was allegedly receiving a large structured settlement from Allstate Insurance. The surgery is allegedly related to a car accident in which Gray was involved.
Sources allege that Gray also attempted to refinance his structured settlement into one lump sum payment through Peachtree Funding.
If this is true, then it is possible that Grays spinal injury resulting from his encounter with the Baltimore Police was not the result of rough-handling or abuse, but rather a freak accident that occurred when Gray should have been at home resting, not selling drugs.

From what I read Gray was on foot and police were on bicycles.
Case Number: 13C14101574
That is the case. Freddie is the defendant, it looks like Peachtree Settlement is a debt collector or on behalf of Allstate Life Insurance.
The only explanation is he was juiced up on drugs.
Wow someone is combing through his life like he’s a conservative candidate.
Deputy Commissioner Kevin Davis, who is overseeing the task force as the head of the
Investigations and Intelligence Bureau, said Friday that the evidence shows Rice
and two other officers on bikes were the first to see Gray. Two officers remained on
their bikes and one gave chase on foot, pursuing Gray for about one-fifth of a mile.
“That’s where the apprehension of Freddie Gray occurred, and quite frankly that’s
exactly where Freddie Gray should’ve have received medical attention, and he did not,”
Davis said Friday.

Insurance companies that pay out for medical bills/missed time at work, etc due to an accident will SUE the person who received the payout to prevent “double dipping”. Could be why he was the “defendant”. Someone trying to get paid medical monies returned.
“Im having a hard time believing he was out riding a bike a week after having back”
Well. I fell on some ice. and compression fractured three verts. I was put in a brace for almost 6 months, the first few months given Soma with codeine. With the Soma, I felt no pain, but I followed my doc’s orders and spent most of my time in a hospital bed that I rented. But,,,, again,,,, with the Soma? No pain whatsoever. Doped up!
I got “NOT FOUND”
He wasn’t riding a bike. The video doesn’t reveal whether he could walk or not - it just shows that he didn’t walk and was dragged pretty gently to the police van. The cops looked calm and controlled to me while being cursed at by bystanders.
Those who see police brutality here either have never lived in or near an inner city or experienced first hand black violence. Unless there is video that contradicts what I’m saying, I think this has, as usual, been blown out of proportion by libs and the news media.
I wonder if he played the insurance sweepstakes?
I was told 10 years ago from a claim adjuster the urban yutes without a job were well known to walk in front of traffic hoping to get hit so they could cash in on insurance settlements.
Given his criminal record I’d say odds are 10/1 he scammed them.

This worked for me.
So, the worst action of the police may have been that they failed to accommodate F. G.s injury.
More likely that Peachtree filed a petition for court approval of their buyout of a structured settlement previously entered into by Allstate and Freddie Gray. Mr. Gray is named as a nominal defendant, only. Likely they paid Gray a lump sum and are subrogated to the structured settlement.
I get it about the HIPPA confidential laws. Seems to me, though, with the city being literally ripped to shreads , that Human Resources Reps would expedite this process just a little bit. It’s not like they have to stuff everything in a manilla envelope and mail it to, what..New Zealand for a thorough review.
You could be right, but nobody knows right now. It’s speculation and jumping to conclusions, just like the Trayvons do.
Being that it’s Allstate Life Insurance I’m not thinking its medical bills.
Instead of the surgery, he should have just taken a pill like Obama said.
This guy was on the cops radar for a long time. He had 13 previous arrests.
Like zimmerman and ferguson the facts come slowly
