CONFIRMED: Court records show Freddie Gray was receiving a structured settlement from Allstate Insurance and attempted to convert it into one lump sum in early March
EXCLUSIVE: The Fourth Estate has learned that Freddy Grays life-ending injuries to his spine may have possibly been the result of spinal and neck surgery that he allegedly received a week before he was arrested, not from rough excessively rough treatment or abuse from police.
The Fourth Estate has contacted sources who allege that Freddy Gray received spinal and neck surgery a week before we was arrested, and was allegedly receiving a large structured settlement from Allstate Insurance. The surgery is allegedly related to a car accident in which Gray was involved.
Sources allege that Gray also attempted to refinance his structured settlement into one lump sum payment through Peachtree Funding.
If this is true, then it is possible that Grays spinal injury resulting from his encounter with the Baltimore Police was not the result of rough-handling or abuse, but rather a freak accident that occurred when Gray should have been at home resting, not selling drugs.

If you look at the court record at the link...it looks more like Freddie Gray is the defendant and the Peachtree financial company was probably a debt collector for Allstate. They were likely trying to get a structured resettlement from Freddie on behalf of Allstate.
Story at link stinks.
Sad story, the kids were born premature and they all had high amounts of lead, etc. His mom can't read, didn't go to high school, and was/is a drug user.
I wouldn't want anyone raised like that.
I can’t find any information that he was riding a bike.
Yeah, but I’d like solid confirmation of this story. And why it’s only coming out now vs. the family or someone stating over a week ago before the ‘stuff’ hit the fan that he’d had surgery, was getting this insurance settlement etc.
There always is.
HIPPA?
"...they exacerbated it.."
As if the police knew.
I’m sure I have no idea why he was out on the street after spinal surgery.
Sorry.
I thought I read that in one of the reports on it.. but we do know he was fleeing the police.. so he was mobile ... something he was not when being taken into custody ...
Were you in any shape to walk very far a week after your surgery much less run?
Ohhh yeah. How’s that “soul searching” going Obama? Why don’t you try it?
“,at this point,”
In this case Freddie is the defendant, not petitioner. Story at original link smells like fish.
He wasn’t riding a bike. The cops were.
Though one wonders how or why he would run after surgery like that.
I had several surgeries for torn rotator cuff and I sure couldn’t run or move with any urgency for months afterward....
Hi. You are one of my FR heroes (heroines?).
However, the idiocy of recent back surgery patient back on the street dealing drugs is just that:
STUPID on the part of Gray.
The issue of the government-media complex DELIBERATELY amplifying this out of proportion is CRIMINAL.
I think a lot of us are asking that question why was he out and about a week after surgery like that.
One bad decission by one person turns the whole city upside down
There is a case number that matches some of this info
From what I have been able to find, he ran from police after spotting them.
It seems to me though that people are going off without knowing much or even any facts of this case.
One thing I do know for sure is that the media lies. People who want to drive outrage lie.
I think it is best to wait for investigation results in matters such as these.
Burning down people’s business and terrorizing them is horse sh!t.
Every one of these people engaging in these visible crimes should be arrested and prosecuted.
If the police engaged in criminal activity with Gray, they should be arrested and prosecuted.
The road we are traveling now in America ends in Hell, and there are people who want to make sure we get there.
Let’s not assist their goals.
The only bicycle I heard about was the cops.
