LYNNWOOD, Wash. -- A robber got more than he bargained for this week at a Lynnwood Baskin Robbins when a worker pummeled him and chased him out of the store.
Police say a man wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses walked into the Baskin Robbins Wednesday afternoon. He approached the employee, Rachael Bishop, and demanded she hand over all the money in the cash register.
Bishop refused, so the robber tried to grab the money himself. That turned out to be a mistake, as Bishop began to pummel him with punches to the head.
"I just really didn't want him to take the money," Bishop said. "I love Baskin Robbins and all my customers and I work really hard, we all do. So this is not cool for someone to just steal that and walk away with it."
The stunned robber hightailed it out of the store with the employee hot on his heels. The suspect eventually surrendered to police after they used a police dog to track him down.
The man was able to snatch $280 from the till, but Bishop expects police to return the money.
There's no word yet if the employee will get a pay raise. (Video at link.)
Pay raise? The employee will be fortunate not to get fired.
Nice going. Hopefully the BR lawyers let him keep his job.
Any bets on how long they will hold it as evidence?
You go girl.

Rachael, sounds like a she to me.
The robber still got the money.
Were any of the perp’s civil rights violated?

...............
She’ll get fired for fighting back.
:: The robber still got the money ::
And, will the perp attempt to recover, at a minimum, the interest from the sequestering of said funds?
This is liberal Seattle. May not end well for the fighting employee. If she had pulled a gun she’d be in jail now.
Not a very good idea. The money is insured and the employer does not want you fighting back. I am all for defending your life when necessary and even protecting your own property but no way I am fighting a robber over a couple of hundred of my employers money.
I saw this on TV. Could not believe this girl’s actions. I would not want to cross her.

They’ll return the $28 to the store after the trial.
Dude! You got beat by a GIRL!
At today's rates, that would be about eleven cents...
Sunglasses in Seattle. Clue #1 that a crime is about to go down.
