The former public face of Bill Clintons White Houseand current host of ABC News This WeekGeorge Stephanopoulos was floored as two prominent journalists and the Republican Speaker of the House from his Clinton days, Newt Gingrich, laid out for him just how bad the Clinton Cash book is for his old bosses.
During the shows roundtable panel after Clinton Cash author Peter Schweizer appeared on the show for a lengthy interview, Stephanopoulos teamed with Democratic strategist Donna Brazile in an attempt to discredit Schweizer. But it started with Stephanopoulos making a shocking admission: Hillary Clintons presidential campaign wouldnt send out any official surrogates or spokespeople to defend her on this scandal.
Donna, I got to talk to you firstI know youre close to the Clinton teamthey did not want to put anybody out to talk about this book today even though we asked, and you just saw Peter Schweizer there, Stephanopoulos said to Brazile. What do you make of his allegations generally but also his specific allegation that he makes that there are undisclosed donations to the Clinton Foundation from foreign charities?
Brazile admitted she doesnt know whats in the book. Yet, without having read it, she proceeded to drop a series of rhetorical attacks on Schweizer. She also offered the Clinton campaign advice on how to attempt to get past Clinton Cash.

Stephanopoulos was in full attack mode against Schweizer, worse than I've ever seen him. But either Schweizer is very smart, or he knew ahead of time what was coming. Schweizer did a real good job answering Stephanopoulos's attacks without seeming shrill or defensive. It might have helped the book have enhanced credibility.
That's my take, anyway.

Everyone is acting shocked, shocked, but anyone who has followed the Clintons over the years will know they have been doing this stuff since they were in Arkansas, right through the presidency, right up until now.
I would believe that a goodly part of the money they have squirreled away was “earned” while they were in the White House, and they have had to come up with mechanisms for laundering their own money into daylight.
No one bribes an ex-president, but it takes time to bring old money into daylight. And clearly they do bribe a sitting Secretary of State, and a possible future president.

Article I, Section 9: "No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State." And the definition of emolument is: e·mol·u·ment iˈmälyəmənt noun formal a salary, fee, or profit from employment or office. "the directors' emoluments" synonyms: salary, pay, payment, wage(s), earnings, allowance, stipend, honorarium, reward, premium; fee, charge, consideration; income, profit, gain, return "his name alone is worth the emolument they're willing to offer" We should be demanding that our representatives are demanding prosecution.
