Liberals Sputter As Scott Walker Proposes Bold New Immigration Platform

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, a likely 2016 GOP presidential candidate, is marching forward with his bold new pro-American worker immigration policy. He’s not afraid to push for a legal immigration system that doesn’t box out American workers with a massive influx of inexpensive foreign labor.

After first rolling out his new ideas on Glenn Beck’s radio program on Monday, Walker appeared on Fox News’ Megyn Kelly’s show to further elaborate on how he hopes to protect Americans economically from special interests pushing for a massive influx in cheap foreign labor from around the world.

“When it comes to immigration, as a governor I don’t have any direct role in that—but having talked to border state governors and having talked to other people, seeing how screwed up immigration has become under this president, it was clear to me talking to them and listening on this issue, traveling to the border actually going there with the governor of Texas Gov. Abbott, seeing the problems there, yeah from my standpoint going forward we need to secure the border, we need to enforce the laws that we currently have with an e-verify system,” Walker said.

“You’re pretty much in line with the other Republican candidates on this,” Kelly asked as a follow-up.

“Well the one thing they’re not saying is we need to make sure as part of that any future legal immigration system that goes forward has to account for American citizens and the workers of this country and their wages to make sure that even with legal immigration in this country we respond to it in a way that doesn’t take jobs away from hardworking Americans,” Walker added, separating himself from the rest of the 2016 field.

I’m not seeing circumvention per se. How can you circumvent what is not even being enforced?

If the illegals in our midst are intent on being wards of the State, they ought not reside here. Period. OTOH, provided we establish a temporary moratorium on immigration and require by law principled participation on the part of those who are intent on contributing to our form of life under a limited government, the natural and intellectual resources are substantial enough.

What we cannot endure, however, is granting the authority to establish public policy (i.e. voting privileges) to those who have no interest in maintaining and enhancing our Constitutional Republic. That includes a good many who are already citizens, whose cries for lawlessness ought to disqualify them from both voting and public office.

The world has often advanced and made stations of servitude that keep ignorance and malfeasance from privileges of power. It would not be all that strange to grant a form of citizenship that denies certain privileges unless and until the subject is proven to be worthy of exercising greater influence on public policy. In short, there ought to be a license to vote just like we have a license to drive.

I would like to hear what Cruz actually said instead of a few quotes out of context and someone that I don’t know as a conservative explaining what they think he said.

I have read that post. Thanks.

Something to consider; Wisconsin may not be the top state in deportations, though we're not exactly slouches either.

doughtyone is doing the job of the liberal news media smear machine

You're shooting the messenger. Are you angry at Doughty because he merely reported what Scott Walker actually SAID?

If so, you're no better than a lib whose head explodes whenever one of their masters' secrets is exposed. If Walker said what's been attributed to him, then you've got nothing to cry about. Let him own his own words. To do otherwise is to give him a pass you'd never give a Democrat.

Scott Walker is correct on this. You can’t just ignore the millions of illegals that the rats let in once the adults take over and cut off the flow. Whatever is done, American workers must get first place in the jobs line.

He is ignoring Walker's unmatched record in history of advancing conservatism, defeating democrats to pass conservative laws, passing conservative laws and using some supposed comment to define him and negate him this is what the liberal news media do to knock out good conservatives as they did to Palin, Cain etc. and you attack me for pointing that out. try checking out Walker's actual record of what he did as governor instead of some supposed comments. His record shows he is a pro-American conservative and posters on here would like us to believe Walker is some anti-American who did all these conservative things but plans to backstab Americans and favor foreigners which is ridiculous. Actions are what matter. And furthermore he posts this 20 times on a thread

Scott Walker’s actions of passing MANY conservative laws including some against illegal immigrants show who he is a pro-American conservative. Actions, results mean everything. Words mean nothing

Here is just one example of walker taking ACTION against illegal immigrants:

Walker’s 2011 Budget Eliminated A Program That Grants In-State College Tuition To Children Of Undocumented Immigrants.

No, Doughty merely posted a link to Walker's recorded statements.

If his supporters are so frightened of his actual words being posted for all to see, then maybe he's not the wunderkind candidate you're making him out to be.

I think the Republican candidates know one thing they can agree with. They know that if these squatters ever get the right to vote, it will be the end of the Republican Party. Right now they would like to keep the discussion quiet so the State Owned Media does not use the Alynsky Method to demonize them with the Hispanic voters. These candidates want to present the best face they can with these voter. Some are giving appearances—I stress appearances—that they are ambiguous on immigration reform. This is political tactics to keep the media from getting a handle on them for their Alynsky smears. We on the Free Republic should be aware of this and know that hyperbole of the immigration issue is not our friend. It just gives the opposition ammunition that the candidates are trying to keep them from having.

“Plus Walker has also passed more conservative and pro American laws than anyone in history”

I don’t think governors pass laws. I think they sign legislation that their state legislatures have passed.

“illegals should not get amnesty, even if they pay a fine and are allowed to stay here.”

I can’t find a link for that statement. Do you have one?

“Walker added to the resolution that the city council does not support amnesty for illegals.”

At that time Walker did not consider paying fines, back taxes etc. to be amnesty. What is his definition of amnesty now and what does he plan to do with illegals that are now here?

Are you sure? Walker’s immigration stance changes every other day.

Give him time and he will give away the Southwest because he does not understand border states

I ain’t laboring with nothing brother/sister.

I be Cruzin’ with Tec

He takes a stand and stands with it.

H-1Bs are needed but these corps that bring them over need to control these people and our FERAL Government needs to monitor them once they get here.

The engineering firm I worked for used these H-1Bs for low level entry to advance Americans. Sure, the H-1Bs were trained and the American low levels then moved UP with HIGHER pay.

AND H-1B Visas (work VISA)is NOT immigration and you should not confuse it with immigration. It should be used as a tool to get labor for an amount of time then that person LEAVES the US. This is where our policies are broken and need to be fixed.

Immigration is where people sign up to move their families to live AND work in America. I had VISAs where I went to work in other countries. I was not an immigrant. I was there on a work Visa to labor for a time then get the hell out (most times I was ready too).
