As much as the Greeks are strapped for cash and in a vulnerable position, the EU will NOT let them go.
I believe that the Greeks, along with possibly Portugal and Spain (and maybe Italy, too) are debt slaves to the EU and will effectively give up their sovereignty (to the EU) in the very near future.
They will NOT become a Russian vassal state.
I have yet to hear the Greek leader who will say, “Let us roll up our shirtsleeves and work our way out of this problem!”

I figured it would only be a matter of time before Greece and Russia aligned, with their common Orthodox heritage.
Not a smart move to sell national assets to Russia, especially if you are on the same continent.
