A new Quinnipiac poll has Rand Paul tied for 5th. That’s eight different polls since November showing Paul in 4th place or worse.
There was a moment in 2013 when political realignment was within our grasp– a once-in-a-generation opportunity to unite conservatives and progressives under the banner of classic Jeffersonian liberalism.
That window is closed– squandered by the mind-boggling incompetence of senior adviser Doug Stafford.

That’s when I lost interest in him. Not when he became “too” libertarian, but when he ran as a conservative. Rand Paul IS a libertarian at heart, like his ol’ man. Embracing the conservative social agenda to win an election betrayed his hypocrisy.

I never saw Rand Paul as any kind of Jeffersonian; neither as a Constitutionalist.
I always saw him as more of an opportunist.
He should have stuck with his T.V. program. That should have been enough to feed his ginormous ego.

Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.
Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.
Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.
If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...
This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.
Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.

Rand Paul: Time for GOP to soften war stance...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don't always all agree on every issue" ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... Terribly written. I can’t say if I agree or disagree with the premise because he doesn’t really support it with anything.
Now he doesn’t have to worry about getting around his state’s laws barring both a run for Senate AND POTUS.
In my opinion Rand, much like his sire, is a different person each morning he rolls out of the sack. You can never lead pipe cinch be sure he’d stand for the same things today that he claimed to stand for yesterday, or last week or last month. Good riddance.
Kissing Mitch’s re-election butt was an integrity busting moment.
