The Domino's Pizza delivery driver shot to death inside his car early Tuesday morning (March 24) in the Lower 9th Ward has been identified by company officials as Michael Price.
The 36-year-old husband and father of three young children, ages 8, 6 and 2, lived in the Lower 9th and was on his way to make a delivery when he was murdered, said Robert Tedesco, regional vice president for local Domino's franchisee RPM Pizza LLC, which operates the Franklin Avenue Domino's where Price worked for the last year or so.
"He was an exemplary team member," Tedesco said. "He always came to work smiling, doing what we asked him to do. He didn't get to come home this time, and that's a tragedy."
New Orleans police found Price's bullet-riddled body shortly before 1 a.m. in the 6100 block of North Roman Street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives are working to identify suspects and a possible motive, said NOPD spokesman Tyler Gamble. Per company policy, Price had no more than $20 on him when he left for the delivery, Tedesco said. He had not completed the delivery when he was killed, Tedesco said, adding that the delivery destination was not far from where he was found.

Pizza delivery driver is one of the most hazardous jobs in the country. Tip them well, they are earning it.
Pizza outfits should issue .357’s to their deliver people and refuse to deliver in murky neighborhoods.
The real problem is white cops killing angelic black thugs. Just ask Bammy.
This was an ambush. The people that ordered the pizza, most likely, set him up to be murdered.
It’s a good thing he didn’t violate the company’s policy against carrying tools for self-defense while on the job...
...because that could have gotten him fired.
Its the new big thing.
Must be an old, old photo.
Regardless. The mug shot of the perps? Won’t surprise anyone at all.
What the hell is THAT supposed to mean?
I heard somewhere that Domino’s forbids its delivery drivers from carrying firearms. If true, maybe Domino’s should rethink that policy.
They just announced that Dominos will no longer deliver to the Lower 9th Ward after dark. You have to be INSANE to BE in the Lower 9 after dark-unless you are a thug. Let’em starve- better yet, let’em revert to cannabilism.
Just teens out having a good time
It means-we know we live in a deteriorating, crime ridden, dangerous pest-hole, but as long as we can make money by denying it and luring gullible tourists with cash here, it’s all good. There is also a ‘fantasy factor’ at work- young, left-coast, ‘artsy’ types are flocking to the ‘funky’ areas-and getting robbed, assaulted and killed with impunity. Still, they believe their very presence will ‘lift’ the area into a hip urban paradise. Talk about fatally stupid! Now lets see if this guy’s wife and kiddies STAY in the Lower 9. If they do- they are suicidal.
I'm not Sherlock Holmes but I'd guess Michael Price was murdered for $20 and a pizza.
They won’t deliver to the lower 9th anymore? That’s racist!! Page Al and Jesse.
He no doubt believed-despite evidence to the contrary- that all people are good and he was safe as long as he was not involved in criminal activity. That’s the mantra-’isolated incidents’ Alllll over the place. Both mantra, and victim, are wrong.
That’s what Dominos just announced. Considering other measure too- like only credit cards after dark. Of course with black delivery drivers and roof-mounted machine guns they MIGHT be able to continue business.Al and Jesse should volunteer to deliver-but I doubt they’re suicidal.
