WASHINGTON U.S. Army Special Operations Command is pushing back against alarmist claims that an upcoming U.S. military exercise is a preparation for imposing martial law or subduing right-leaning groups and individuals.
Conspiracy theories about the exercise, known as JADE HELM 15, appeared online this week. Some commentators railing against the event referred to an online slide show allegedly created by USASOC, which outlined a special operations exercise slated to take place across multiple states, outside the confines of U.S. military bases. In the slide show, a map of the southwest region of the United States labels Texas and other territory as hostile or insurgent pocket. The document also refers to coordination with law enforcement agencies.
Army Lt. Col. Mark Lastoria, a USASOC spokesman, confirmed that there is an upcoming exercise called Jade Helm 15 which is scheduled to take place this summer at locations in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, California and Nevada. But he denied the event is preparation for some sort of military takeover.

Looks like some blow back from the West Journ piece.
I know you know, but check 6 often.

Oh, Crud, they are onto us.
Thanks for the Ping Dave.
After a year’s absence of the Jet Jockeys out of Holloman and and the Prop Jockeys out of Cannon AFB playing in the skies above ‘the gulch’, for the last month they have been up there almost constantly.
I wonder if it might be related.
Has something like this been done before, on this scale? If nothing else it’ll get folks used to seeing their “protectors” out among the populace.
Man, I dunno. I have my suspicions about this guy. I don't think he's from Around Here...
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
That’s in part what Ferguson was.. A test to see just how much ‘in the bag’ the local police are in the gubmint camp. Not very much, apparently!

Oops! You lost your tin hat again. Civilians “sign up” to play auxiliary support for the exercise. They provide transportation and land use among things. There used to be a guy who fired a black powder cannon to help initiate ambushes. Civilians have been supporting these exercises for generations in central North Carolina
Note the name of the exercise ends in “15”. This means there has been at least one other in the past.
Citizens of the Peoples Republic of Pineland, the Republic of Cortina, and the Republic of Mojave are pissed off that they are going to be loosing all that maneuver damage money this year. Also the people of the Republic of Erehwon are participating in this exercise.
Same principle. SF has lost its edge in unconventional warfare due to doing mostly direct action missions in the last few years and the exercise is to sharpen those skills
Anybody else remember the SWIFT STRIKE Exercises? Four divisions as I recall.

Robin Sage - Training Exercise conducted off post in civilian areas - but on a smaller scale. For SF students.
I participated in Robin Sage as a student, G and adviser.
I participated in both the Bold Eagle and Solid Shield Exercises, both multiple state FTXs that had UW portions on civilian lands.
This new FTX is an attempt to exercise the various higher headquarters in UW warfare. Since the War on Terror the higher commands have not been able to focus on UW.
The multi state play area is required to stress the ability to insert, support and extract the lower level operators.
As such the head quarters made a slid show and briefed many civilian agencies that may play a part - or be nearby - that’s where the slides came from.
From the article which states that: locations in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, California and Nevada
Three other states have been identified as being involved and ends On 9/11 In Florida. (FL, MS, & LA) so that is
10 states out of 50 states.

The Jade Helm realistic military training program will take place in seven states across the country, including Mississippi and Louisiana. Forces will be given realistic scenarios with limited resources and are encouraged to work with civilians.
Here is the slide show that sent Alex Jones in heart palpitations.

I had to download it to see more than the first slide.
“...The Jade Helm realistic military training program will take place in seven states across the country, including Mississippi and Louisiana. Forces will be given realistic scenarios with limited resources and are encouraged to work with civilians....”
Our team was inserted on one of the Solid Shield FTX’s and set up behind an old couple in a farm house. They knew we were there and ran a hose from the outside faucet into the woods so we had plenty to drink.
A Platoon of 82nd troops pulled up in their yard to get in the woods and search for us. By the time they shut the 2 1/2 ton down the old guy was out in his yard giving them Holy Heck. Told them he owned the woods to and they better get off his property.
We got pulled out at first light a couple of days later. The couple and a bunch of their friends were sitting on lawn chairs in the yard waiting for the Huey. They were having a good old time as it came in and took off.
Any civilian that gets a chance to play should take it - they might learn a few things.
I’m still not convinced that the son of a bitch is leaving when his term is up.
Reminds me of standing with my fire team next to a small town water plant during an exercise in the early ‘90s—like some kind of public exhibit. Boring, but better than being in the real field that day.
