Conservatives often find themselves at odds with the libertarian crowd. However, is that anger really warranted?
As President Reagan once said, “If you analyze it, I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism.”
True conservatives and libertarians, let’s not pretend there aren’t fakers on both side, all agree on the fundamentals: limited government, personal responsibility, and economic freedom. Neither group wants the government interfering in our daily lives and telling us what we can and cannot do. Now there may be slight disagreements on how that plays out in the policy arena, but we should not allow that to stop us from working together.
Our primary focus needs to be on reigning in spending, and returning power to the states where it belongs. The government has overreached time after time with blatant disregard for the boundaries set forth in the constitution. It’s time for conservatives and libertarians to put aside our differences, and work together.
As Morton Blackwell, President of the Leadership Institute, says, “You owe it to your philosophy to study how to win. You have a moral obligation to learn how to win.”
When are we going to realize that what we are doing isn’t working? We are going to keep losing elections until we get this right, and America will pay the price.
This has resulted indirectly in massive deficits. Since the federal government is the only branch of government that is allowed to run deficits forever, more and more power has devolved to the feds.
The libertarians hope that we can get rid of entitlement programs so that the only illegal aliens that come here will be hardworking ones, but that ain't happening any time soon.
Meanwhile we have turned Grover Norquist into a demigod because he's agin taxes more'n the rest of us. Supposedly.
“Libertarian” has a respectable intellectual history.
Unfortunately, these days it’s more likely to mean nihilist, anarchist, libertine or just plain old doper.
That's not much of a Plan B.
About the only thing Conservatives need to understand that will bring them close to Libertarians is this:
ANY law passed, no matter how good its intentions, will be perverted to increase the power of the government and the people who control it.
This is especially true of things like drug laws and civil rights laws.

His comments were taken completely out of context and edited in such a way as to paint him as a racist in order to undermine his credibility. All so that the leviathan that is the USG could steamroll this man and his family.
In the entire video, if you took the time to actually watch it, he made valid comparisons...the types of comparisons liberals don’t want made or published.
