The Washington Post editorial board is sharply criticizing Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) for his "silence" on former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani's controversial comments that President Obama does not love America.
Walker later did not condemn the comments.
The mayor can speak for himself," he said on CNBC the next morning. "Im not going to comment on what the president thinks or not. He can speak for himself as well."
The Post called Walker out for not making stronger comments, and noted that Walker said he would "punt" on a question about evolution earlier this month.
"Mr. Walker likes to present himself as a man of courage, based on his record in Wisconsin, but maybe facing down public-sector unions doesnt tell you all that much about the bravery of a Republican governor," the Post wrote. "On two occasions in recent days, he has proved himself incapable of saying basic truths that might offend some of his potential voters: First, that evolution is real, and second, that an honorable politician criticizes his opponents policies, not his patriotism."
The Post meanwhile praised Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), a potential rival to Walker, for saying that I believe the president loves America."
A spokeswoman for Jeb Bush has likewise said that he "doesn't question President Obama's motives."
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R), though, has backed Giuliani, also drawing a response from the Post.
"It was particularly pathetic to see Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R), another would-be president, scrambling to steal some of the spotlight of Mr. Walkers cowardice by issuing a statement titled, 'Gov. Jindal Refuses to Condemn Mayor Giuliani,'" the Post wrote. "The only response to that can be, who cares?"
I am loving Bobby Jindal lately. He is playing all my favorite songs. Ted Cruz and Jindal would be a great ticket.
Does anybody else think it brutally ironic that a man who gets his living by standing up in the front of the country and lying goes by the name of “Josh Earnest”?
Rudy, beware the arsenic, lead, and cadmium cocktail. Earnest “feels sorry” for you, which means the Alzheimer-mimicking potion is just around the corner...
The future must not belong to those who tell the truth, in the world of Obama...
Walker is distancing himself from Giuliani and finding a way to stay out of saying anything one way or another.
Scott Walker is dodging the controversy as advised by the consultants.
Walker’s response was fine. Whatever he said would have caused the WP to go nuts. They’re obviously worried about him.
And you just fell into the trap that the MSM set to ensnare gullible conservatives.
This same exact shit happens every four years. The MSM identifies their biggest percieved threat to the democrats, and then proceed to tear that person down, to the point of destroying them with any lame excuse that they can think of. AND, the MSM along with their DNC cronies, can always rely on the conservative circular firing squad to line up and start shooting at the snap of the MSM’s fingers.
The MSM has already settled on JEB to be the GOP candidate, and will start bulldozing anyone who get’s in the way.
So Marco Rubio thinks Obola loves America? Isn’t that special?! Can’t wait to see the photos of Obola, Krispy Creme and Rubio strolling arm-in-arm on the Jersey beach. Rubio is really getting nauseating lately. Gag me!
...which is why....Cruz 2016. Wish someone would ask him
No one outside the Beltway and Obama’s media palace guard cares.
This “story” says a lot more about the media’s obsessive need to protect Obama than it does Rudy or anyone else.
What a big nothing.
The media attack dogs move down the block to Walker’s yard.
THAT needs to be on EVERY Thread!! Even the Cooking threads!!
Now he has my full support, and donations.
What are we expecting Walker to say on the matter? The fax he’s not tipping his hand so readily on someone else’s side issues is commendable. Rudy is quite able to handle answering for himself.
Yep, I think ultimately the fact Walker didn’t attend a
Poison Ivy League school will work to his favor.
I can see that. If so, civilization will have reached a milestone.
Maybe, going back to what you said, it is contrived. The thing is though that President Obama’s apologetics for Islamic terrorism is not sitting well with the voters he is supposed to represent on the world stage. He looks foolish and dangerously naive, furthermore the “official line” is looking suspiciously like propaganda and censorship and even the president looks uncomfortable with the nonsense spewing from his own mouth. Giuliani said what’s on a lot of people’s minds and he knows it.
And I am calling out the Washington Post for keeping their silence on Obama.
I love seeing the tizzy the media is in from Guiliani. You would think liberals have absolute love and respect for the office and whoever the president is regardless of party.
