From Johnny earlier today:

"Time to fess up.

Turns out I have brain cancer that moved there from my lungs. Prognosis is poor. I had brain surgery a couple of weeks ago.

Of course, being me, I intend to fight hard to the very end, and beat the odds. I may well be around for harvest season this year. That is my intent. Normal prognosis is in weeks.

I've held off on bringing this up on FR for several reasons. But the time to bring it up is now.

Consider this my opus. It's as close as I'm going to get to giving one.

I really want to thank Jim for giving us a forum. Jim, you do good work. Thanks."

He was one of the first freepers I contacted privately in asking for his prayers for my beloved husband who also suffered with a brain tumor and small cell lung cancer. My husband passed away on Oct. 1,2014. We followed JRandomFreeper. from the beginning and my husband loved all his post.”I’m just a cook,” had us howling. He has more wisdom in his little finger than most could accomplish in a lifetime. I love you Johnny, and may the Peace of Our Lord Jesus Christ, touch and heal you. You are exceptional and we so desperately need your wisdom and guidance. May our Lord heal and make you whole again. I love you and as always you are forevermore in our prayers. Devastating news, Johnny. We all have our last day, but dang it, the Good Lord just can't have you yet. There are just too many republicans out there needing an education in constitutional thinking for a good teacher to check out. And, there's popcorn and fireworks on the way to enjoy. I pray, in Jesus name, our Father grant you strength and wisdom to your care givers. May it be His will to keep you strong and return your health. Amen.

Amen to that. I've enjoyed reading his posts over the years. He's in my thoughts and prayets.

Somewhat shocking to hear that he has been dealing with such serious health problems. (Maybe because of his humor, we just assume everything is ok?-I don't know.)
