Has Marie Harf just dug the hole she's in a little deeper? Morning Joe invited the State Department spox on today to give her a chance to clarify what she said to Chris Matthews about the US being unable to "kill our way" out of the ISIS problem and the need to focus on the "root causes" of terrorism.
After brushing off the suggestion by General Michael Hayden that she'd like a "mulligan" on those remarks, Harf attempted to distract from the focus on Islamic terrorism. Discussing this week's White House summit on "extremism," Harf cited the Lord's Resistance Army led by Ugandan Joseph Kony. Huffed Harf: "I don't remember people talking about that as much anymore, but that's a Christian militant group."

And Marie confirmed that her depth and width of understanding is about 1/4 of an inch. We have friends, young couple, in D.C. trying to get into the job they are qualified to do well. We saw them this week and he said it’s tough because he has come to realize that the State Dept prefers to hire fresh out of college people with no experience and send them abroad to represent US. This man has lived in China, obtained his master’s from a Chinese university, married a very intelligent Chinese woman. His background and experience and knowledge qualify him uniquely. However, I wonder if his real world experience, knowledge and opinions would conflict with the Ivory Tower academics who follow what they were taught by like ideologues.
To a leftist, pushing an old lady out of the way of a speeding train is morally equivalent to pushing an old lady into the way of a speeding train.
I don’t know where they got this woman but she is the gaffe gift that keeps on giving.
She ought to have SMRT tattooed right on her forehead in big, black letters just so people know that they are dealing with...

Gee, I don’t recall hearing about any militant Christian groups burning Muslim captives alive, beheading 21 Muslims solely because of their faith, blowing up mosques and Muslim holy places, kidnapping Muslim children and selling them into slavery or calling for genocide against Muslims. Have I missed something???
