A Montana homeowner was sentenced to 70 years in prison for the stand your ground killing of German exchange student.
Markus Kaarma, 30, was convicted in December of deliberate homicide after he gunned down 17-year-old Diren Dede in his garage. Hell have to serve 20 years before hes eligible for parole.

Strawman argument such as?
Sorry, about the accident!
I appreciate you providing an example of a shotgun that actually holds three rounds but I think it is stretching possibility that he had the same gun.
Especially since he was expecting a dance. I know if I was expecting trouble I would have a little more firepower than that.
BTW, when I used to take my guns fishing a I tied a crap ton of bobbers on them just in case. Sadly it was the volcano visit that defeated the bobbers.
The view from Montana is he, the shooter, was wrong. He bragged about killing someone prior to baiting his garage.
I’m in Montana, and most everyone I know feels the same. Kid made a stupid mistake, but no reason to lure him in and kill him.
This is no liberal opinion FRiend. I’m a CCW holder and have my own gun range. I’ve been reloading for 20 + years and two of my neighbors built gun ranges after I did. We know guns in Montana, and when to use them properly.
One idiot in prison, and another won’t steal anymore. Sad ... but a win / win just the same.
You are absolutely correct.
Your continued posts deriding the idea that Dede did not have criminal intent when entering the garage, even though no one here made that claim, are a perfect example of a straw man argument.
Did he brag about such a thing? Two unrelated witnesses that came forward out of seemingly nowhere, making claims based on what? That’s called hearsay.
How was someone “lured” in? An open garage at 1 am is not a “lure”. And that’s aside from Dede having entered unopen garages prior to that.
Not a win-win. And an opening for liberals to continue the attack on US freedoms.
What is the story here, please?
No; the notion that an open garage door at 1 am is a “lure” or “bait” is the strawman argument. One does not “murder” a criminal so trespassing, and Kaarma was convicted of murder.
I was not implying that he had a Remington Model 11, merely pointing out that guns which hold 3 rounds do exist.
Additionally, some states/localities limit shotgun magazines to three rounds for hunting purposes. My Mossberg 500 (RIP) came with a wooden dowel “plug” which could be inserted in the magazine tube to reduce its capacity to three.
It is an inside joke in case the NSA, FBI, CIA, BATFE etc. is monitoring our posts.
I never claimed anyone baited anyone.
But you are wrong when you state that a trespassing criminal cannot be murdered.
If I work so that I can buy a new laptop computer, and someone steals my computer, then that person is not just a thief of my television, he is a thief of my labor. If he can steal my labor, then he makes me his slave. I will not be someone’s slave. Work. Beg. Borrow from your rich German folks.
I didn’t say you made the claim. Others have, though.
There can’t be a case when a trespassing criminal can be murdered; killing and murder are not the same. Otherwise that lends credence to the claim that the slain person was “baited”, with all due respect.
I appreciate that as I have never seen a three round shotgun so I am assuming they are somewhat rare and not one’s “go to” gun for a potential fire fight.
My point is that had this been me no matter what I took out of the safe I would have a minimum of six rounds in my weapon. Also if I ran out I would do a New York reload (pulling out a second and then third gun if necessary).
I just find this a bit problematic.
Are you seriously trying to equate illegal lane changes or running a stop sign with BURGLARY?!
Please, tell me you are kidding.
They ARE monitoring and saving our Every key-stroke, as well as listening to all our phone calls.
I bet I have actually bored several people to death if they are tracking me.
I know they can read my posts on public media but they are not tracking my key-strokes as I am far to savvy for that to happen.
This is why I use my real name as if they want some they can come get some.
Actually , in Texas after dark it is legal.
You are wrong. In Texas lethal force is legal to protect property after dark - no claim of self defense is necessary.
Now if “baiting” were involved that might change things- but in past cases baiting usually involved enticing a specific person over via phone or other means. Never heard of a case like this in Texas. Would likely depend on the Jury. Still, Bad idea to do what this guy did, regardless of legality.
You aren't the first person to say that. But if you look at what I said and what I replied to you'll see that I was specifically talking about a claim of self-defense. So I'm not wrong. Circumstances where you may use force that aren't self-defense have no bearing.
