Measles Outbreak That Started In California Expanding
CBS Baltimore ^ | January 22, 2015 | Christie Ileto

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A health warning. The extremely contagious measles virus is back. An outbreak that started at Disneyland is starting to sweep the country.

Christie Ileto has the push for children to get vaccinated.

Measles was thought to have been eliminated in the U.S. 15 years ago. Now its back, targeting those who haven’t been immunized.

The outbreak that started in California’s Disneyland is expanding. At least 75 cases of measles span six states.

“It’s scary to think the happiest place on Earth is infected with measles,” one Disney employee said.

For this Disney employee, knowing co-workers are infected is cause for concern.

Measles has a 21-day incubation period, meaning people  can travel far before they know they’re sick.

“We’re seeing the resurgence of measles because a lot of the parents are not getting their children vaccinated,” said Dr. Peter Andrews, Sinai Hospital.

Dr. Andrews says that problem is prime. In Maryland, all students K-12 must get two shots of the measles vaccine.

“It just didn’t make sense to me,” said one Annapolis mom.

In a revealing interview with WJZ, an Annapolis mom explained why she didn’t vaccinate her kids.

“I didn’t understand why a little human had to get so many drugs at one time,” she said.

Still, the vaccine proves very effective if given at two doses.

Doctors say the virus is highly contagious. For instance, if someone has the measles and doesn’t cover their mouth when they sneeze, they can pass it on to anyone standing nearby.

Symptoms like fever, cough and rash soon follow.

“The younger, the older, the immune compromised. Those are the three target areas that really can get sick and die,” said Dr. Andrews.

Most people who have already had the measles or got the vaccine are not at risk.

Strange I didn’t contract cancer. I didn’t contract polio either. Hmmm...

I’m not paranoid for myself. I’m paranoid for the children of idiots.

Idiot parents are not vaccinating their children who can be exposed to sterility and other disabling injuries as well as death by these childhood diseases.

If you wish to risk disease, that as you say is your choice. What did your kids do to deserve exposure to death and disability?

so you are going to advocate medical procedures on others’ kids against their will, so you can feel safer.

when stuff goes wrong are you culpable? nope. dealing with a damaged kid the rest of their life? nope.

may you never run for office.

that doesn’t change what the Merck scientist admitted, doesn’t change that millions of kids including my mother were given polio vaxs with sv-40 plus God knows what else in it, and it doesn’t mean others didn’t develop cancer, simply because you personally don’t have cancer.

The real question should be how is 0bama getting taxpayer money to take all the illegal children to Disneyland?

My kids were vaccinated. Like hundreds of millions of other children they were protected against childhood diseases.

Please, link me to any massive outbreak of cancers that can be directly tied back to the Merck vaccines.

Cancer happens. In most instances it’s more like global warming than anything else. You can’t define exactly what caused it. However, if the Merck product was causing cancers, there would be literally hundreds of millions of people including me that would have it.

Over the decades close to a trillion people have been given a number of vaccines to prevent childhood disease. We have been given them back into the 50s at the least.

Are adults dropping dead like flies today? Have we had the massive incidence of problems those numbers of vaccines would certainly have caused if they were doing the things you attribute to them?

How many lives have been spared? How many injuries have been avoided? We have hundreds of millions of children who did not wind up with polio. Their bodies were not deformed. They were not a burden on society. That much is clear.

None of what you think Merck did to the populace at large that resulted in injury, can be proven. If you think it can, please provide your data.

So the Merck vaccine didn’t cause cancers in everyone, but it was still the cause of massive cancer cases. LOL

Please prove that.

All nations in Central and South America have vaccination rates above 89%.

Not in the progressive Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, but there the People and Government love each other so nobody leaves.

I listened to the interview. In the interview the doctor talks about the virus that reportedly causes cancer. What I didn’t hear was the report of one single instance of Cancer being tied back to the Merck vaccine.

Perhaps this virus did have the capability of causing cancers. That doesn’t mean it did.

It may have been a threat on paper that didn’t every materialize into something more than that.

So far, that’s what appears to be the case here.

Thank you for the link.

I will say the the interviewer kind of tipped his hand during the video. Wild laughter at the expense of Merck doesn’t really prove much. It merely causes me to think the producers of the video had a bone to pick with Merck, and thought this was a smoking gun.

It may have been, but only if this virus actually did cause wide-spread, or even isolated cancers.

Did it? We don’t know. At least I sure don’t.

the guy worked for Merck. he was discussing his work, at’Merck. in the very first question he makes that clear, this was going on at work, at Merck.

plus i am not just saying sv40. he admits there were a bunch more viruses they knew about being in the polio virus and they did not filter out.

if you read what he said this crap was in Sabin’s vaccines too.

to blindly trust this stuf being all good with no risk to the point you want to force others who object to be made to take it just to make’you think you’re safer, i disagree with you.

if’you get the vax and it’s supposed’to protect you, what do you care if i don’t take the vax? you have your vaccine that has no down sides and will protect you against anyone who may have it. your protection is internal, it will protect you whether or not i have the vax.

and if i die or am permanently’disabled from a vax, i’m screwed and you don’t give a sh1t about that. in your world’i wouldn’t have a choice and if i get screwed up the bigpharma company says there’s risk you agreed to taking the shot and we’re not liable, and i’m a statistic, but you’re happy and feel so safe govt has taken medical choice away and the negatively affected get filed under your “shit happens” column.

Dr. Sanjay Grupta just said it was because some of those coming over from Mexico was in part the cause. They also reported 5 of the 39 were “fully vaccinated”. Makes me wonder if there’s a change in the measles virus itself.

The outbreak is also in Mexico. It appears it’s primarily California and Mexico.

Vaccination does not prevent measles in 100% of those vaccinated, but maybe 99.5%.

The goal is Heard Vaccination so that a disease never spreads widely.

Already had the Mumps outbreak in the NHL, this Measles outbreak and now just waiting for Rubella to make a comeback.

Probably just a matter of time until some of these imports spread it. With how many people don’t get their kids vaccinated ( and I believe some are better off not getting them ) with no personal research but based off of “well everyone else is doing it” mindset, the situation is ripe for more outbreaks.

Most of the non-vaccinated kids would never have been exposed if not for this invasion. Besides the vaccinations don’t always work.

You can still get sick with measles even with the vaccine. However, thanks to your immune response being boosted by the vaccine, you are likely to recover more quickly than an unvaccinated individual, and not suffer as serious sickness or damage to your body. These outbreaks of measles occur where almost everyone is vaccinated against measles.

You can boost your immune system without a vaccine. There are many, many things you can take to ramp your immune system up without the potential, real negative effects vaccine damaged and killed people have had happen to them. You can build up your immune system without relying on vaccines created from stem cell lines that have no other non-aborted fetal cell alternatives. Plus you don’t run the risk of getting ill with the very disease you’re supposedly immunized against - which DOES occur.

If you are talking about vaccines, one way to get a stronger, longer-lasting immunity to measles is to actually get sick with it as a child, which counts as exposure and develops an actual immunity that lasts for a long time. I am sick of people saying that it is just the crazies like Jenny McCarthy. Those people are on the fringe. The reality is that people still get sick with measles even when they received the vaccine. Vaccines are not 100 percent effective in keeping you not sick. But at the same time, you need some form of exposure to measles to build an immunity. The vaccine is one, getting yourself sick with it while young is another.
