The New York Times reports federal prosecutors are recommending felony charges against former CIA Director Gen. David Petraeus for allegedly providing classified information to a civilian author and journalist with whom he allegedly had an affair.
Meanwhile, another controversy is waiting to boil over within the Obama administration: a sex scandal involving the CIAs Petraeus. The timing isintriguing. Only after the Benghazi attacks, as Petraeuss loyalty to the administration falls into question, does everything turn sour for the spy chief.
In the immediate aftermath of the Benghazi attacks, Petraeus first draws ire from some administration colleagues for not reading from the Carney-Obama-Clinton-Rice book of fiction. While theyre pushing the spontaneous protest narrative, hes disclosing full information on the suspected al-Qaeda links, to House Intelligence Committee members at a classified briefing, according to those present. Then the talking points his agency approves for public dissemination on September 14 say that the CIA provided warnings on September 10 that the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, Egypt, could come under attack and that Benghazi was in a precarious state. Clintons state department sees the inclusion of that damning information in the CIAs original proposed talking points as a knee-jerk cover-your-ass moment on Petraeuss part. One official later tells me, We thought, Why are you guys [Petraeuss CIA] throwing us under the bus? . . . They made it seem like the State Department was given a warning they ignored. [But] no specific warning was given.

Yep. He was on their team. He should have executed the plays they called. It’s honorable that he didn’t. But how could he not expect to get the shaft?

But, but, he knows that he can win the hearts and minds of the Sunnis and Shiites including those in the administration, right? You mean he should re-assess the rules of engagement?

Exposing the events of Stevens' death are nowhere near as important as the reasons he was in Benghazi in the first place. If Zero had been supplying AQ affiliates to facilitate Ghadaffi's fall, if the MANPADS were going to AQ affiliated groups in Syria, then the President of the United States was giving aid and comfort to an enemy of the United States as named in statutory law. That is treason, by legal definition. There is no way around it but for the lack of two witnesses, which we all know exist in numbers significantly greater than that.
Stevens was Zero's and Hillary's accomplice. I care nowhere near as much about him as I do the SEALS who died in his defense. Yet it is far more important to nail the Creep for what we all know he is.

Have to believe you are on target, Matt. Soon it will be too late, if isn't already. Is time former General Petraeus manned up, if the General cares about the nation more than the money. Besides, by the time a book is published it will be too late for anyone to care and there are always plenty of denials to go around or many 180s that can be turned by many people. The money probably hasn't flowed to many of the possible/probable 180ers yet. Slush fund is more than likely waiting for such an occurrence possibly even congressional approved.

” If he had any honor, since he knows the entire truth of Benghazi, he would have done a Hackworth already, never mind selling the book deal first.
Instead, hes been raking in millions on Warbucks Inc boards, which is the establishments way of paying him off to keep his trap shut.”
A shame he was for sale. Now he pays for the transgression.

Sharyll is the best. She will cover the story with first hand news only and the best of info available.
We already know how the regime plays the game.
They have crap on everyone. A trick they learned from Hillary and her FBI files. They already have Boehner, and Roberts compromised and Petraeus. Who knows how many others are hiding in silence as well.

Given the corruption of the administration you offer one viable theory as to why the General is being punished.(Not excusing his conduct.)

I think Petraeus will find out his show-trial will diverge from the Stalinist model no doubt contemplated by the Obammunists.
When Petraeus shows up, he'll have several million Americans in his corner, a whole hell of a lot of them veterans.
Convict this, Holder!

She may be right about that, but he made the bed they exposed him lying in, and that was about as boneheaded as you can get. Would you prefer we were blessed instead with legions of senior generals deeply marinated in the black arts of Byzantium?
