The source being the police representative or the NYT? Are you questioning the motive for the shooting or that it happened?
OK, I read the article and was somewhat stunned at the “relative” non-slanting of the report. I suspect that the two who shot the cops were likely the perps from the bodega robbery the cops were investigating and I also suspect that the cops interrupted a planned robbery of the Chinese restaurant.
Props to the two cops and prayers up for speedy and complete recoveries.
Did it happen to mention the race of the robbery suspects/shooters?
But..but Decommio the Mayor just said yesterday that NYC has never been safer. POS along with Bratton.
There was video of the suspect on Fox. Dark skinned but he could have been PR, black, not sure.
In most cases the race is withheld to protect the guilty, in other words...Holder’s people.

Can you imagine the hysteria the media would produce if they actually publicly announced and ID’d all suspects of violent crimes, especially murders?
We’d feel like a society under siege by a single group of people! Oh....wait....

What? They were attacking people a block away and happened to hit the officers? Just shaking my head at that nonsense.
If they were plainclothed, then how could the robbers know they were cops? Did they flash their badges? Identify themselves as cops?
Maybe the robbers thought that two dudes were invading their turf and so they protected it.
I don't see this case as being another attack on cops. Although the cops need more practice time on the shooting range.
What I think the Chief meant is that the gunmen were not looking for cops to shoot. This was more of a cops & robbers scene -like in the movies.

True. I’ve stopped clicking articles like this because most never describe the suspects if they are still at large.
A standard example would be...
“Police are searching for 2 males between 18-35. The suspects are described as being between 5’9” and 6’2” tall and wearing dark clothes. If you have any information about the possible suspects call 1-800-BR-549.”
CNN report spends a minute on the robbery then the rest of their report on how the police disrespected Herr Wilhelm at the funeral Sunday.
The pistol recovered at the robbery scene appears to be a blue steel, six-inch western styled revolver

The unidentified officers were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital where they are in critical but stable condition. Both officers are expected to recover, the NYPD said.
The officers, who were in plain clothes, were part of a group of five cops who were responding to a call about a robbery at a grocery store on East 180th Street in the Bronx, Police Commissioner Bill Bratton said. The officers were approaching two suspects who had just entered a nearby restaurant when one of the suspects opened fire, Bratton said. The officers returned fire and two of them were wounded.

Well thats what Obama/Holder/Sharpton want. According to the revolutionary theories of Trotsky and Alinsky, the majority is to be whipped into a frenzie up to the point that a widespread majority backlash occurs.
Then the Obama Race Jockeys will cry again and again, supported by the MSM , that discriminatory violent conduct against racial minorities is occurring nationwide.
Then the scenario is that El Presidente Obama will declare martial law, and then the persecution of white folk will begin with a strient vengence in order to up the ante towards revolution yet again. This path supposes that white folk are soft and will not be able to organize or fight.
The question is will the majority of Amwericans and the state and local police tolerate this revolutionary conduct or will they enforce the law? Only time will tell.
A declaration of martial law pursuant to the federal insurrection act will have at leat four goals:
1) The indefinite postpnement of the 2016 elections.
2) The nationalization of all state and local police forces.
( The NYPD know this and are resisting as best they can.)
3) Shutting down and censoring the World Wide Web in the USA. much like China does.
4) Crimnilizing conservative political activity and protest.
