After the Washington Post reported that House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) spoke at a 2002 event hosted by a white nationalist group, RedState editor Erick Erickson knocked Scalise's supposed ignorance about the organization.
According to the Post's Robert Costa, Scalise appeared at an event for the European-American Unity and Rights Organization, a group founded by former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke, but didn't know at the time that the organization was a hate group.
Erickson was not willing to give Scalise the benefit of the doubt.
"How do you not know? How do you not investigate?" Erickson wrote on Monday. "By 2002, everybody knew Duke was still the man he had claimed not to be. EVERYBODY."
"How the hell does somebody show up at a David Duke organized event in 2002 and claim ignorance?" Erickson asked.
The conservative writer then suggested that Scalise lose the support of House Republican leaders over his decision to speak at the 2002 event.
So it didn’t happen but it was cleverly arranged so as it could conceivably happened but denied. Thanks for not proving anything.
Can this really be true? -— I didn’t hear any of the alphabet networks reporting on it. I didn’t see a story in NYT or WaPo ... not even NPR.
There are racial groups in Congress. How about going after the Congressional Black Caucus and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus?
Isn’t it a shame that Boehner and Scalise and the GOP-Establishment are actually cozying up to racist, neo-nazis?
Why?
1. If they’re called racist, then they must pass amnesty to prove they’re not against all those minority illegals.
2. They actually believe in social corporatism, another word for crony capitalism, and the belief of neo-nazis. The chamber of commerce is their partner.
3. They actually believe they are our masters, the ubermensch (supermen) of the Nazis. IOW, we are the cattle, they are our owners.
All racists are scum.
I was going to say something and you said it better :)
Erick Erickson is one of the few in the media (”conservative” media included) willing to speak the truth.
As he said, Conservatives first need to defeat the Republicans, then the Democrats.
Scalise and Boehner are much bigger dangers to Conservatives and the Constitution than Obama and the Left ever have been.
Thing is the national agenda has gotten away from us, from basic stuff like “secure your borders and control your immigration policy” into this no-mans-land of horrendousness of runaway entitlements and multiplying government contracts to deal with all the busy work created by — not securing our border and controlling our immigration policy (just as an example).
They don’t call themselves a “white supremacist group.” White or Euro-American nationalist or separatist is closer to the mark.
ask me if I give a crap
Sometimes I have to scratch my head and say to myself, “How can a country let their own borders get away from them?”
And then I think “one-worlders wouldn’t worry about this the way I do. They wouldn’t want any borders at all....Just one big group that they get to control.”
Do you give a crap?
:>)
“Some hard-headed conservatives are refusing to admit the obvious. Boehner and his lieutenant, Scalise, must be replaced.”
The article is BULLSHIT, the entire controversy is too!
Scalise NEVER spoke at that Klan group gathering. He spoke to a local civic group at the same hotel 3 hours before the Klan rally!
It is a made up story that was debunked several days ago.
Wrong. Read post #2
It is now evident that GOP Whip Scalise is the friend of neo-Nazi Kenny Knight, and that Knight tried to provide a bit of cover for Scalise by scheduling him a couple of hours before the neo-Nazi event in a different room at the same location. They have admitted, however, that the neo-nazis attended Scalises event, too, and that at a minimum, Knight, contributed $1000 to Scalise. Knight was KNOWN AT THAT TIME to be an organizer for David Duke, former grand wizard of the KKK turned neo-Nazi.
Seems like a poor excuse to get rid of Boehner.
There are numerous significant reasons.
I don’t give a crap about post 2, it was debunked, didn’t happen!
Another on the list.
And it will make it easier for Boehner to push illegal amnesty through. Otherwise, it will be attributed to known racist sympathizers...Scalise, Boehner, etc.
You are wrong. It did happen.
Read this from Sarah Palin: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3243176/posts
She’s wrong too.
Right? How about if we call for a “Congressional White Caucus” and rub the medias faces in if?
