Fox News anchor Sean Hannity, also a nationally syndicated radio host, is tripling down on his calls to demand new blood in House GOP leadership.
In the wake of Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) rebuffing his call to run against Speaker John Boehner after the white supremacy scandal that has rocked Boehners ally, House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, Hannity is calling on every Republican member of the House of Representatives to reconsider whether Boehner is in fact an effective leader.
Every Republican member needs to ask themselves if John Boehner is really the best person to lead the conservative movement at this important time in history, Hannity said in an email to Breitbart News. Are they voting for him as a leader or for the Committee assignments they have been promised? The American people expect and deserve bold and dynamic and inspiring leaders. The next 2 years are critical for the country.
Hannity said that if Republicans return to conservative principles by rejecting Boehner and installing a replacement, they will be rewarded with political victories in 2016s crucial presidential election.
~~snip~~
Hannity also called on House Financial Services Committee chairman Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) to present himself as a challenger to Boehner. Hensarling, a former chairman of the Republican Study Committee and a Texas conservative with establishment credentials, has long been talked about as a potential Boehner opponent...

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen Sean put his money where his mouth is, quite like this.”
I agree. When I saw/heard Hannity on his program, say why Boehner had to go, he did it with conviction and urgency. I was stunned he did that as he was deadly serious.
You and I determined we live in the same general area so tonight expect freezing rain and all day tomorrow and even Friday. Don’t go out partying tonight with freezing rain coming down - O.K.?
This is great news!
How did someone like Boehner even get considered to be a republican House leader? Who’s running the show up there?!?!
On the Democrat side, they have Pelosi, who is somewhere to the left of Stalin.
Couldn’t the Republicans at least put a leader in place that’s a real ‘conservative’? I don’t think Boehner is even as conservative as Hastert was, and that’s pretty lame! lol Hell.... As far as that goes, Boehner makes Dennis Hastert look like Jesse Helms. LOL
Why is Hannity even going here? the other question is, why would the democrats vote against Boehner? Maybe I am missing something here, but is the assumption that every rat will vote against Boehner so the 30 or so conservatives who vote against Boehner will force Boehner to step down?
What happens to those conservatives should Pelosi decide to have her caucus vote for Boehner? Boehner is the best shot the rats have of killing off the Tea Party and will be scared to death if a conservative wins the seat.
We all want Boehner out. However I don’t think 30 people will do it. We need 125 conservatives to stand up and say no. With less than the majority of republicans in favor of Boehner, he will not be able to get anything out of the house without the rats help.
That “bi-partisanship” will sink both the rats and the GOPe.
Rep Blackburn would be great as Speaker!
Not exactly - if one doesn't vote for Boehner, he/she will lose any committee seat he/she has. This is not the way to run a government so Boehner has to go.
Really, if I was a rep., I wouldn't vote for Boehner and I would get removed from whatever committee(s) I was on, likely destroying any influence I would have, but I would still do it - I would not be blackmailed by POS Boehner. I think what I WOULD do is write my opinions about whatever legislation was happening and distribute that to all Rep. reps. I would bet I could get a coalition together that would be substantial - I would not stop working just because Boehner dumped me from committees.
GET RID OF BOEHNER
after the white supremacy scandal that has rocked Boehner's ally, House Majority Whip Steve ScaliseYeah, I remember the same people complaining about the racists, skinheads, Holocaust deniers, and other assorted trash that work or used to work for Ron and Rand Paul. Oh, wait, they *defended* that...
But I would not tie it to the Scalise non-scandal.
Refusing to throw Scalise under the bus is one of the few decent things I can recall Boehner having done (although being Boehner, the odds are better than even that he will cave on this too).
Thanks, Marcella. We won't. My wife checked the weather this morning and decided to postpone our visit with friends across town til this weekend when the weather's nicer.
My guys and I still have to get out and do a small job today anyway, but we should be done before the freezing rain starts up.
Happy New Year!
BTTT!
Marsha Blackburn has my vote.
What if the Scalise story is not accurate?
“What if the Scalise story is not accurate?”
Actually, I don’t know anything about that one way or another. Boehner has to go due to his disregard of the election - he got that budget passed funding Obamacare the way it is and funding Obama’s amnesty - he stomped all over conservatives - if they didn’t vote for that spending bill, they would lose their committee assignments. Boehner is not King of the Hill, and Obama is not King of the country. Both have to go.
Does that typewriter have cursive font?
We don’t want the left to know what we’re up to, ya know?
I’m dumping my New Year’s Resolutions and stealing yours!
DeLay was Majority Leader for a while, never Speaker.
If you like your speaker, you can keep your speaker.
Boehner is so full of crap that he is a “dump”.
Obama is just a traitor, and a very successful one at that.
LoL
