In an angry editorial published in the Sunday edition of the New York Times, the newspaper's editorial board called on president Barack Obama to Prosecute Torturers and Their Bosses.
The list of offenders in a credible investigation is a long one, including former vice president Dick Cheney; his chief of staff, David Addington; former CIA director George Tenet; and John Yoo and Jay Bybee, the lawyers for the Office of Legal Counsel who helped draft the documents clearing the way for enhanced interrogation of prisoners and enemy combatants.
In addition, the editors called for charges to be brought against Jose Rodriguez, Jr., the CIA official who ordered the destruction of supposedly incriminating videotapes; the psychologists who devised the torture regimen; and the agency employees who carried out those directives.
The board also asserted:

NYT trying to distract attention from the cop murders on Obola’s doorstep.
Angry editorial?
I’d say they were angry that they have been caught having complicity with the murder of the two NYPD cops.
I have no love for either of those gentlemen, but I’ll stand armed guard at their house to make sure this doesn’t happen.
Funny. Hope it doesn’t get zotted. It belongs in this thread.
And yet that editor loves Al Zawari
Through irresponsible reporting and editorial hate speech they've indirectly caused many times more American deaths than Dick Cheney has in their most fevered marxist dreams.
They’re so cute.
NYC grows more disgusting by the minute!
Yet, they embrace the Castro brothers.
Traitors advocating criminal charges against those defending America.
I like THOSE “Old Grey ladies”! :-)
Long past due for some “enhanced intrrogation” of the NYT...
Yep, if I had any criticism of the group that was in charge during this period in our history ... the didn’t do enough “torturing”.
Every prisoner sent to GTMO should have spent their first week there undergoing water boarding. Water boarded until they had no more to say. Might have saved us many casualties and shortened the war overall by many years.
It’s the New York Times perpetrating upon our society a typical New York Times Leftist tactic. It’s a tactic. It’s what Leftists do all the time. This tactic is in support of their Leftist buddies of the Democrat party.
Basically they are saying Democrats don’t torture people, and Republicans do. It’s a simple message they are trying to pound into the brains of the American voters who just tossed the Democrats out of office. It’s a tactic in a war for minds, and souls. IOW it’s Leftist Bullshit just like the torture report released by the Democrat Party after the election. They are fighting back trying to make us wish we hadn’t tossed their butts on the street.
I for one am sitting back watching all of it with amusement.
As Dick Cheney said : “I have little respect for the United Nations, or for this individual, who doesn’t have a clue and had absolutely no responsibility for safeguarding this nation and going after the bastards that killed 3,000 Americans on 9/11.”
This, I believes would apply to the NY Times also.
These people know no shame.
BTW, on another issues, I think all the editorial boards calling for voting rights to non-citizens ought to first give editorial voting rights to non-staff members, specifically FREE REPUBLIC POSTERS.
And the reason that this will never happen? Imagine a government system where you prosecute your predecessors. In a two party system it would pretty much guarantee that you, in your turn, would be prosecuted with the only chance of stopping it being to establish a dictatorship. That would have a high % chance of provoking a revolution which you could lose (under the blade of a guillotine!)
