Our city is hurting, we are hurting. Today we mourn the loss of two NYPD officers who were gunned down in a vicious act of senseless violence.
As soon as news broke of the tragedy in Brooklyn, I spoke with both the families of Eric Garner and Michael Brown. And let me be perfectly clear, we are all outraged and saddened by the deaths of these police officers. Any use of the names of Eric Garner and Michael Brown, in connection with any violence or killing of police, is reprehensible and against the pursuit of justice in both cases.
At every rally and every march, we have stressed nonviolence and peaceful protests.
I delivered the eulogy at Michael Browns funeral and Eric Garners funeral and denounced anyone engaging in violence. We have even been criticized at National Action Network, NAN, for not allowing certain rhetoric/chants calling for violence, and we would abruptly denounce it at all of our gatherings. Violence never has and never will have a place in the true fight for equality and justice.

I think that he is on FOX News frequently.
This statement isn’t about the dead cops....it is all about Brown, Garner and Sharpton.
Readout of the Presidents Meeting with African-American Faith Leaders
This morning, the President met with African-American faith leaders to discuss the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom and how civil rights and equality are closely tied to voting rights and closing the gap on education, unemployment, and access to health care. The faith leaders from major African-American church denominations are in Washington to mark the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington. The President noted that while the country has made enormous strides in the decades since the March, more work remains to be done to ensure that our country is more fair, more free, and more just than it was 50 years ago. The President noted that his Administration is continuing to fight to ensure that the right to vote is protected, and he also discussed the upcoming start of open enrollment in the Health Insurance Marketplace, and that the difficult but critical work of enrolling millions of Americans in health exchanges around the country continues. Thanks to the Affordable Care Act, an estimated 7.3 million African Americans with private insurance now have access to expanded preventive services with no cost, and nearly 7 million African Americans without health insurance will newly have access to quality, affordable health insurance options in 2014. The faith leaders told the President about their plans to work with their congregations and partners to inform people about the Marketplace. The President thanked the leaders for their prayers, and said that he looks forward to continuing to work with them. The President and the faith leaders concluded their meeting with a prayer.

Al is trying to cover his ass.
The greatest NATIONAL inciter of racial hatred and primitive vicious animalistic behavior now wants to shed crocodile tears and faux outrage at the birth of the monster of his own creation?
Really?
He damned well *better* say those words, no matter if he means them or not.
In is a church for tax purposes only. Al is no more a Minister of the Gospel than Satan is.
Oh this is great.
Usually Sharpton takes about three days to get his parade out when a black kid gets shot.
Now he’s out in front of this in hours over the killing of two police.
It’s about the amount of time it takes to puke your guts out when you get food poisoning.
Several thousand protesters marched in New York City on Saturday.
The protesters were part of Al Sharptons Million Marchers protest against police violence.
The protesters chanted What do we want? Dead cops! as they marched in New York City.
I am dismayed that FNC personalities like Bill O’Reilly and even Sean Hannity still treat Sharpton with any respect. They should ask him about Tawana Brawley and his taxes before anything else.
The Sony executive ring-kissing of Sharpton is even more disgusting. We all know that liberal hypocrite supporters of racial preferences are truly more racist than conservatives.
Wouldn’t it be funny if a Trayvon busted a cap in Al?
Comcast owns MSNBC, which employs Sharpton for his racist TV program. If you have Comcast you should cancel and let them know why. Comcast’s proposed merger with Time Warner Cable should be lobbied against as they are not a reputable company.
Leni
yup,
let’s include any “church” nObama has attended, especially that Jeremiah Wright and his “church”!
The usage of the word "death" makes this event appear peaceful. "Murder" would be a more appropriate word.
It speaks volumes when this piece of **** is advising Obama on race relations.
Their blood is on your head, Sharpton. Thank God there is a judgement day.
