Five reasons Mary Landrieu lost

Sen. Mary Landrieu’s (D-La.) luck ran out Saturday night.

The Democrat’s colleagues talk about her as a fighter who has won tough runoff elections in red Louisiana before, even if she was the underdog against Rep. Bill Cassidy (R-La.). But in 2014, a host of factors conspired to keep her from ultimately falling short for a fourth term.

Collapse among white voters

Landrieu’s support among black voters in Louisiana is nearly universal, but strategists in the state wondered if there were enough of them to counteract Cassidy’s huge lead among white voters.

There were not.

Landrieu’s percentage of the black vote was in the high 90s on Nov. 4, but Cassidy took more than 80 percent of the white vote.

Democrats, particularly those in the South, have suffered a complete collapse among white voters. Landrieu was the last white Democrat from the Deep South in the Senate, and none remain in the House.

5. We are in a real Economic Depression, covered up by Food Stamps and the media

Landrieu’s support among black voters in Louisiana is nearly universal,

I suspect William Jefferson, he of the cold cash in his freezer, was also supported nearly universally by black voters in Louisiana.

Ethnic support does not mean it comes from valid political concerns or an informed electorate.

Landrieu: “I would vote for it (Obamacare) again and I’ve said that and I’m not backing up from it,” and “if they don’t like it they can un-elect us, I’m up for reelection right now.”

So we did.

I remember when she blamed Hurricane Katrina (an act of God) on Bush, saying she wanted to physically assault him.

Can you IMAGINE the media uproar is Sen Cruz said he wanted to "punch" Obama?

Eric Holder would have had him arrested in the middle of the night.

Sen-Elect Cassidy summed it up best in his victory speech:

"This victory happened because people in Louisiana voted for a government that serves us, that does not tell us what to do," Dr Cassidy said.

He can include the rest of the US in those ringing sentiments.

Her continuously sucking up to and supporting Obama and his stances (due to living in a bubble of wealth all of her life and knowing nothing of the real world or knowing what real people go through) is the # 1 reason in my book

Sorry but beating up on the One Percent can only help if you are also for protecting gun rights, against gay marriage, and against Open Borders. Somehow I don’t see the Democrats doing that anytime soon.
