A Naval engineer is facing charges that he gave an FBI undercover agent posing as an Egyptian intelligence officer secret documents about the new Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier while discussing how to sink the vessel with a missile.
Mostafa Ahmed Awwad, 35, of Yorktown, Va., was arrested Friday on an FBI affidavit that reads like it came from a Tom Clancy novel.
Federal prosecutors in Virginia say that during his conversations with the undercover, Awwad arranged to use a dead-drop location along a secluded hiking trail to pass secrets about the Ford, which is being built in Virginia for delivery to the Navy in 2016.
The affidavit says that at a hotel meeting on Oct. 9 Awwad gave the undercover drawings of the aircraft carrier that he said were top secret. During the meeting, "Awwad discussed where to strike the vessel with a missile in order to sink it," the affidavit says.
The FBI undercover was posing as an Egyptian spy named "Yousef" and spoke to Awwad in Arabic.

Nope he won't be there. He's civilian unfortunately. He will likely get a federal pen. He's a Naval Engineer hired by the Navy. He was not a Navy Engineer meaning that he was not a commissioned Navy Engineering Officer.
The only question is this: will they give him the Bergdahl or the Manning treatment. Apparently Obama is soft on treason.

Despite the Residents EO the Two Man Rule for above confidential classified material & Need To Know protocols should have prevented his access to any information he wanted even in a civilian work environment.
All spaces below second deck on a carrier are classified at least confidential. Heck a Conventional Machinist Mate training manual was labeled Confidential I'm certain of that and I've seen them in second hand book stores. Even crew members can't just pick a space and enter without permission. For example Conventionals still required a Vital Area Badge for entry into machinery spaces. Trying to get a peek-a-boo at a weapons magazine would jet your head blown off by Marine Sentry posted at the hatch. The mission critical departments onboard took security serious. Not even the ships Master At Arms could enter "The Hole" without permission.
I went in most spaces on ship due to the nature of my jobs but places that had classified documents required permission and an escort at all times. IOW if I had gone into Main Comm for a high temperature trouble call they had to first lock up the paperwork, cover operating gear, and then let me in and follow me around. A trouble call to the Brig wasn't fun either. For the magazines only a handful of Snipes had needed clearance to enter if they were loaded.
I think this what he told the Saudis about to sink a U.S. carrier:
