North Carolina Rep. G.K. Butterfield, who was elected chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) this week, told WUNC on Wednesday that the CBC is “laser-focused on what’s happening in Ferguson.” He added, ”We are very, very concerned about it.”
Butterfield, a former Superior Court judge and civil rights attorney, said in an interview with WUNC, the North Carolina Public Radio affiliate, that he expects a report from the grand jury in the Michael Brown shooting case next week.
“I was a judge, as you probably know, for fifteen years in North Carolina and I presided over many grand juries,” the congressman said. “So I would certainly hope that the grand jury in Ferguson, Missouri, will find that there is sufficient evidence to conclude that a crime probably was committed, to lay out that crime, and to let a jury of twelve in Missouri decide the guilt or innocence of the police officer. ”
Butterfield didn’t say whether he had seen any evidence indicating that a crime “probably was committed.” Nevertheless, he had a stern warning for the grand jury: “If they turn their backs on justice there will be…there will be pushback from those who are concerned about it — and I’m one of those who’s concerned about it. There will be pushback. We will be asking questions.”
The North Carolina congressmen, who has represented his district since 2004, said he hopes that any demonstrations in Ferguson will be peaceful and non-violent. “And I would hope that law enforcement would not inflame citizens who want to express their First Amendment rights.”
Amen to that.
It’s amazing anyone would admit to the entire country that they’re a bumbling idiot.
I”m hoping they find evidence of a crime, too:
Resisting Arrest.
Assault on a Police Officer.
Attempted homicide (gun grab) of a Police Officer.
I don’t know, but a judge that wants a rigged jury sounds corrupt and more crooked than a D.C. politician to me.
You're right - - these people are desperate. They need to keep the pity party and the race card alive. Ferguson's their best and last hope. Without quasi believable excuses they'll have to start solving their problems.

Actually I think Obama uses sunlamps or something to darken his skin, in some pictures he looks no darker than that guy and disregarding eye color the “judge” looks no darker than I do with a sun tan.
I don’t think Obama could have won election if he looked like that guy and I think we all know that if everything else about Obama had been the same except that he looked like David Duke he never would have been heard from. Try to imagine a tall, blue eyed, handsome dude trying to run for president who says his father was a foreign student from Sweden, his mother was Japanese American and his stepfather was an indonesian Muslim. The laughter would have been louder than a 747 on takeoff but let him call himself a black man and make a big deal about it and suddenly he is touted as the messiah.
And I would hope that the community agitators would not inflame citizens who want to express their SECOND Amendment rights.

Next up: Butterfield will declare that his own Aunt Bea told the story a thousand times about how Aunt Bea’s father (Butterfield’s grandfather, whom Butterfield referred to as his own “pappaw”) had flared nostrils “like all of the Africans do”?

I am sure glad I don’t own a home in Ferguson, as its value is probably about as close to zero as you can get. Who in their right mind would want to live there??
For sure, and the folks that live there now who own homes have little chance of selling.
A grand jury doesn’t determine innocence or guilt, they only determine if the evidence is sufficient to warrant a trial.
He’s from my district. He’s a POS that owes his station to all the black communities here. I said ALL black communities.
