The Ferguson, Mo., grand jury considering the indictment of Officer Darren Wilson, who killed teenager Michael Brown during an altercation in August, left the justice center in St. Louis on Friday without reaching a decision.

Sources told CNN on Saturday that it was unclear when the jury would reconvene.

Means nothing. The media does not understand that deliberations will continue with a decision to come with the next week or so.

Just another reason Holder will indict Wilson for Civil Rights violation no matter the GJ results..

"Deprivation of Rights Under Color of Law, 18 U.S.C. § 242. This provision makes it a crime for a person acting under color of any law to willfully deprive a person of a right or privilege protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States.

For the purpose of Section 242, acts under "color of law" include acts not only done by federal, state, or local officials within the their lawful authority, but also acts done beyond the bounds of that official's lawful authority, if the acts are done while the official is purporting to or pretending to act in the performance of his/her official duties. Persons acting under color of law within the meaning of this statute include police officers, prisons guards and other law enforcement officials, as well as judges, care providers in public health facilities, and others who are acting as public officials. It is not necessary that the crime be motivated by animus toward the race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status or national origin of the victim.

The offense is punishable by a range of imprisonment up to a life term, or the death penalty, depending upon the circumstances of the crime, and the resulting injury, if any."

Tell me about it, if I ever did anything like that when I was a kid my father would have grounded me for the next year, literally.

"if they return a No Bill?"

Do you live in MO? Is that an option?
In all the states I have lived in, Grand Juries do not "clear" people whom prosecutors have put before them.
Either they issue an indictment, or they don't.

DEFINITION OF "NO BILL" vs. "TRUE BILL":

"NO BILL" is a term that the foreman of the Grand Jury writes across the face of a bill of indictment
(a document drawn up by a prosecutor that states formal criminal charges against a designated
individual) to indicate that the criminal charges alleged therein against a suspect have not been
sufficiently supported by the evidence presented before it to warrant his or her criminal prosecution.

When the grand jury agrees that the evidence is sufficient to establish the commission of a crime,
it returns an indictment endorsed by the grand jury foreman with the phrase "TRUE BILL" to indicate that
the information presented before it is sufficient to justify the trial of the suspect.

Yes, a grand jury does not CLEAR anyone per se; the next grand jury can indict if this one does not. All they consider is whether there is enough evidence to go to trial.

Agreed. The school district must anticipate a decision soon which belies CNN’s headline. We live in interesting times, but some days I truly wish to return to the Reagan years.

Inaction refusing to stand up and clear Darren Wilson’s name.

Pansies, just contributing to the decline of American society.

I BLAME THEM.

Then come out and tell America what threats they are receiving. Pretty much insurance.

I was watching the coverage today on Fox, mostly CNN. I asked them through the tv, why dont you go and ask if anybody is in the grand jury room?

I wasted my time listening for quite a while as they spoke as if they were in the building, turns out they never even came in today.

Took them until late in the day to discover that they never came in today.

I’d be contacting every militia group in the country asking for assistance. I would then announce my location, with a warning anything done to my person, property, or family would be met with deadly force. Screw these people, they’d back down against armed patriots. I guarantee it. They are all bluster and smoke until the cavalry arrives, then they’ll be cowering on their knees willing to lick boots to save themselves.

This is not their country. It is ours. The law abiding, those who will not kill on a whim. Start the fight, and we will end it. Every time.

I am from Missouri. Here’s the deal. The GJ hears the evidence, and they don’t have to rely just on the evidence that the prosecutor presents - they can ask for additional info they might want.

Once, they have all the evidence, they review it and vote. If 9 or more vote for indictment, then a true bill is issued. If less than 9 vote for indictment that’s a No bill.

We don’t even know if they have all the evidence yet-none of the St.Louis channels have stated that all the evidence is in yet. I have an issue with the headline - it’s misleading.

Local news said tonight that the GJ would reconvene on Monday. I have heard nothing to indicate that they have finished all the evidence presentation and questions.

Local News has confirmed the presence of all the usual suspects and useful idiots: Communists, Black Panthers, KKK, Occupy Goons. I have seen SEIU Jackets on the News since the very beginning.

Local news interviews with residents (including blacks) also noted that there were lots of outsiders trying to agitate and cause trouble. It reminds me of the 60s. Commies and their ilk agitating and useful idiots burning down communities and hurting everyone who lives there.

The Grand Jury will reconvene on Monday per St. Louis local news. This Grand Jury was impaneled for 4 months prior to the shooting. Their term was to have already expired, but was extended till early in January 2015.

It takes 9 out of 12 for a true bill in Missouri. Less than that results in a No bill. The prosecutor is presenting every scrap of evidence that he knows of. The GJ can also ask for whatever additional info they feel they need. (St. Louis news has not indicated that they are finished with the evidence phase).

Then they review and when ready, vote. IIRC, 9 whites and 3 blacks on this GJ.

No Bill is an option for all Grand Juries.

My son, Wayne Derrick, is an award winning producer and director of documentary films and has lived in London for over 20 years. The last two years he came to this country and made “Heroes Behind the Badge” plus the next year he made “Heroes Behind the Badge Two.” The first one is about American policemen across the country who died in service. The second is American policemen disabled by wounds in service.

Recently, a group, and I don’t know which group, gathered political office holders in Ferguson and surrounding areas, including St. Louis, and trained them the way policemen have to be trained to control dangerous riots.

At the end, they showed “Heroes Behind the Badge” and gave a copy of that film to each one of them.

The world is strange - Texan Wayne Derrick, living in London, England, made a documentary film and that has been introduced to those politicians in Ferguson/St. Louis. That film is also required viewing in Police Academies in the United States.
