Legalized marijuana spreads to two more states and D.C. Next up, California

Oregon and Alaska approved recreational pot use – following Washington State and Colorado, which did the same in 2012 – and the District of Columbia approved legal marijuana possession but not sales, though the move could still be halted by the new US Congress.

Though medical marijuana was rejected in Florida, the steps by Oregon, Alaska, and the District add momentum to a movement that is eyeing California next. Recommended: How much do you know about marijuana? Take the quiz

Yet marijuana remains prohibited by the federal government, and the issue could come to a head in the District of Columbia. Congress can veto any Washington, D.C., legislation, and legalization of marijuana there could force conservatives' hand. Alternately, the next president could take a firmer stand than President Obama has

I think legal grass will be just like casino gambling and lotteries.

Far too lucrative in taxes for state legislators to pass up.
Life as a politician is no fun without a lot of dough to spend.

So, we should abandon the war on drugs and give the cartels license to do as they please in America? Because nobody “forced” anybody to buy their poison? Is that what you’re saying?

>"I wonder if there's any cannabis product that would keep me from waking up all night long. "

Any good Indica blend would have ya dreamin in living color all night long. I'd recommend eatin a cookie or brownie an hour or two before bedtime.

It's non toxic, so it wont eat your organs unlike man made crap. Plus if the nazis loose their right to murder US citizens, you can grow it in your flower garden for free!

Why not simply follow the Constitution and let the states deal with intrastate regulation of drugs?

Can I get the relaxation effect without the high? I’ve been stoned before and it’s not fun and games for me .... I feel really strange and weird.

RC one: I like the idea of taking this revenue stream away from the cartels but we have to know that they will recover that lost revenue by increasing/improving their heroin/meth/coke trade.

Cartels can force people to buy and use their products?

So, we should abandon the war on drugs and give the cartels license to do as they please in America? Because nobody “forced” anybody to buy their poison? Is that what you’re saying?

No, I'm saying that if pot is legalized the cartels can't "recover that lost revenue by increasing/improving their heroin/meth/coke trade" because they can't force people to buy and use their products.

And legalizing any drug (with non-excessive taxation) will not give the cartels license to do as they please, but will reduce to negligibility their involvement in that market - just as legalizing the drug alcohol reduced to negligibility the bootleggers' involvement in that market.

Precidents of history! Too bad the doogooder nazis are as willingly ignorant as the noodlebrain commies to take a simple look at even recent history.

You’re wrong about everything. Your argument is likely biased by your own addiction. If not that, you’re either clueless or hiding ulterior motives with BS arguments. Either way, I’m tired of arguing with folks like you about the WOD.

Not all of us want to be under the influence of MMJ. No more than they want for booze or other drugs.

Pain can be brought down with out the bad part. Or so they claim. Without having to ingest the cancer causing agents from smoking it. Like any other pain med there is Miss Use of it.

Of course there are many that do not want to be under the influence, that is why it is a choice.

Why do you call it the bad part?

Most people that use cannabis for medical reasons do not smoke it, they ingest it in edible form. It is almost impossible to measure one’s dosage by smoking it. With edibles, ie a tincture or a capsule, it is easily measured and dosages will not vary.

Any aspect that gives you a ‘bad’ effect is just simply bad for you. Like over drinking then driving. Just like the cancer causing agents if you smoke it.

I understand about the medical end it is the Cancaboid part that they ingest or take.

Biggest deal it is still federal level ILLEGAL. States can pass all the laws they want to legalize it, but the Federal law voids them. Simple Civics on government.

Easy road side test;

Offer the driver a doughnut from outside the window and measure how far they reach out for it. The farther the reach, the more loaded.

Same as being drunk. I watched what it did to my sister and her husband, their kids were neglected over their need for weed. Weed was the more important item in their lives, not their sons. Thank GOD they wised up and got clean.

It’s too bad that the only example you have of people using marijuana are your sister and her husband. In my experience, their behavior is rare. I’m guessing they have a lot of other problems also. I can see why you consider being high, as bad.

Odd, but I thank GOD for creating marijuana.
