Angelina Jolie has said she could consider a career in politics, describing herself as open to a life of diplomacy or public service.
Jolie, who last month was made an honorary dame by the Queen for her campaigning work fighting sexual violence, has often been asked if she would consider swapping acting for politics.
But in an interview for the December issue of Vanity Fair magazine, which goes on sale on November 11, she said that, for the first time, she was warming to the idea.
When you work as a humanitarian, you are conscious that politics have to be considered, she said.
Because if you really want to make an extreme change, then you have a responsibility.
But I honestly dont know in what role I would be more useful I am conscious of what I do for a living, and that could make it less possible.
When directly asked if she sees herself pursuing a life in politics, diplomacy, or public service, Jolie replied: I am open.

Exactly what we need more of: celebrities running for office
/s
Brad Pitt gave her a shooting range for a wedding present.
Funny what one little letter can do:
Because we need more people paid to do make-believe in front of the camera to ruin our lives.
Either way works.
I think she should run for president against Hillary:).
she didn’t give up her US citizenship?
Is she done taking her clothes off for a living?
What she would lack in substance and capability won’t be challenged due to having health issues in the past. They will have her past health scare make her a saint to many IMO.
Angelina may surprise you if she ever does obtain elected office. Yes, she is indulgent and quite eccentric, like most successful movie stars, but she is also quite intelligent like her Dad. Angelina is not nearly as vocal as J. Voigt about her politics. Of course, she’ll need to get used to minimizing her Diva behavior. But that never seemed to bother other female politicians, such as “The Illustrious” Sheila Jackson Lee.
She had a sexual relationship at 14, a lesbian relationship, adulterous sexual relationships, adopted kids from Cambodia, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Namibia, and France and bought a wildlife preserve in Cambodia.
She has made a lot of movies and a lot of money, traveled to Africa, Pakistan, Afghanistan and other places where people still haven’t learned how to govern themselves.
Now she feels her vast worldly experience qualifies her to become a politician and help straighten out the USA.
Why didn’t the incredibly smart and talented Ashley Judd carry out her plan to run for Senate in Kentucky? Was she nervous about having all those campaign gropes from BJ Clinton?
Mrs Brad Pitts...
a nobody
#1 Barack Obama
Back in 2009, US Magazine reported a quote from a source close to Angelina Jolie: Shes into education and rehabilitation and thinks Obama is all about welfare and handouts. She thinks Obama is really a socialist in disguise. Angelina Jolie has never made a public stand against the president, but she didnt deny the political stance.
#2 Brads Mom
Jane Pitt, Brad Pitts mom, is notoriously politically conservative. When Jane Pitt published a letter opposing same-sex marriage and abortion, the Enquirer reported that Angelina Jolie threatened to call off the wedding. But apparently, Brad set his mother straight.
#3 Cambodias Environment
In 2003, Angelina Jolie established the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation to help conserve the environment in Maddoxs native Cambodia.
#4 Immigrant Rights
Disturbed by stories of the unfortunate fates of unaccompanied immigrant children in the US, Angelina Jolie partnered with Microsoft in 2008 to create a fund that gives free legal council to children seeking a better life.
#5 Refugees
In 2001, Angelina took a stand for refugees by joining The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees with these words: We cannot close ourselves off to information and ignore the fact that millions of people are out there suffering. I honestly want to help. I dont believe I feel differently from other people.
#6 HIV
In 2006, Angelina Jolie partnered with the Global Health Committee to set up a daycare to care for kids afflicted with HIV in Phnom Penh, Cambodias capital.
#7 Education
Many of Angelinas fans dont know that a large part of her international activism goes toward building schools in places like Kenya and Afghanistan to educate displaced and refugee children.
#8 International Adoption
Theres no better example of Angelina Jolies work to encourage global awareness of the worlds orphans than her own adopted children Pax, Zahara and Maddox.
#9 Orphans Worldwide
Angelina works closely with Global Action for Children, a group that raises money to help orphans from all over the world. If you cant afford to adopt one of your own you can at least donate a few bucks.
#10 New Orleans
After Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt helped the world remember what happened in New Orleans by moving to the city and worked to raise money to rebuild the floundering city.
Will she run in France where she lives?
Yeah me too I prefer Papa John Voight
I like her. I don’t see her in politics, but I think she leans more to the right than the left....
There. Fixed it.
Hackers was pre-nose job. She had short hair and broad nose. I thought her co-star and future husband Jonny Miller was very watchable.
As for her acting, I find her very tiresome. Her sexuality is very broad and lifeless as in the movie Original Sin; a cut and paste job for all future projects.
I don’t care if she plays crazies well, like in Gia, because there is nothing crafted well or organic. In her private life, she dresses in mostly black, a la Morticia Addams, and her face looks artificial like a mask. I find her hard to look at without wincing.
She did a movie about Doctor’s without Borders ( aka socialist doctors) and she was so vain, her character wore high-heeled espadrilles to take care of the sick in Africa.
I say, Angelina, you’ve sucked the life out of Brad Pitt. We don’t need you making life-sucking policy for us.
