#1 Barack Obama
Back in 2009, US Magazine reported a quote from a “source close to Angelina Jolie”: “She’s into education and rehabilitation and thinks Obama is all about welfare and handouts. She thinks Obama is really a socialist in disguise.” Angelina Jolie has never made a public stand against the president, but she didn’t deny the political stance.
#2 Brad’s Mom
Jane Pitt, Brad Pitt’s mom, is notoriously politically conservative. When Jane Pitt published a letter opposing same-sex marriage and abortion, the Enquirer reported that Angelina Jolie threatened to call off the wedding. But apparently, Brad set his mother straight.
#3 Cambodia’s Environment
In 2003, Angelina Jolie established the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation to help conserve the environment in Maddox’s native Cambodia.
#4 Immigrant Rights
Disturbed by stories of the unfortunate fates of unaccompanied immigrant children in the US, Angelina Jolie partnered with Microsoft in 2008 to create a fund that gives free legal council to children seeking a better life.
#5 Refugees
In 2001, Angelina took a stand for refugees by joining The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees with these words: “We cannot close ourselves off to information and ignore the fact that millions of people are out there suffering. I honestly want to help. I don’t believe I feel differently from other people.”
#6 HIV
In 2006, Angelina Jolie partnered with the Global Health Committee to set up a daycare to care for kids afflicted with HIV in Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s capital.
#7 Education
Many of Angelina’s fans don’t know that a large part of her international activism goes toward building schools in places like Kenya and Afghanistan to educate displaced and refugee children.

There’s no better example of Angelina Jolie’s work to encourage global awareness of the world’s orphans than her own adopted children Pax, Zahara and Maddox.

Angelina works closely with Global Action for Children, a group that raises money to help orphans from all over the world. If you can’t afford to adopt one of your own you can at least donate a few bucks.

After Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt helped the world remember what happened in New Orleans by moving to the city and worked to raise money to rebuild the floundering city.
