CDC Finally Admits that Ebola Can Float through the Air … 3 Feet
CDC ^ | 10/27/14

Posted on 10/27/2014 9:05:45 AM PDT by Enlightened1

Droplet spread happens when germs traveling inside droplets that are coughed or sneezed from a sick person enter the eyes, nose, or mouth of another person. Droplets travel short distances, less than 3 feet (1 meter) from one person to another.

A person might also get infected by touching a surface or object that has germs on it and then touching their mouth or nose.

***

Clean and disinfect commonly touched surfaces like doorknobs, faucet handles, and toys, since the Ebola virus may live on surfaces for up to several hours.

We don’t even know the real day Patient Zero died. I don’t trust this Admin on anything to do with Ebola.

If you are in NY/NJ, go to the Liberty Science Center.

Walk past the Big Blue Nose.

It DEMONSTRATES how far an uncovered sneeze goes.

” The distinction you point out is an important one for epidemiologists, but not for the public at large.”

It is immensely important. Many freepers have been freaking out that a person(Duncan) got on a plane even though he was symptomless, i.e not with fever, coughing and sneezing and vomiting etc. And at the time they were arguing they should all be quarantined and may all die. Oops WRONG. Nobody on the plane got it from Duncan.

“So let me ask you... would you go into a room without...”
If one of my family had it sure. The hard part of that equations is not the air, but not being at “at risk of coming in contact with vomit, blood, or diarrhea”. It is VERY difficult to clean up quantities of fluid from end-stage ebola without getting the slightest microscopic contact with it.

Neither do I. Not at all. I come from a medical background and am still involved. I know better.

But hey it’s all good, let’s let doctors who have come back from West Africa with fevers of 103 get on Subways and go to restaurant and bowling alleys, what’s the harm..oh and let’s let a nurse who said in her blog that she cradled a dying 10 year old who was having a seizure while dying of Ebola walk all over Maine spreading her treats around..hey what’s the harm done..it’s just Ebola no biggie

Honestly I think the CDC does a good job. The problem is they’re in the same boat anti-terrorism and hurricane predictors are in: they will miss eventually and that’s all anybody pays attention to. In the end in a world made this small by convenient travel, with a people that are fond of clustering into dense population zones, diseases will happen, they will spread, and they will kill people. It can’t be prevented entirely, but we can work to educate, we can work to find cures, we can work to find vaccines, we can work to control the outbreaks. Which is why they’re named what they’re named.

“the CDC is only interested in one type of quarantine: censorship and keeping people from knowing the truth.”

What specifically do you think they are censoring? The link for this thread is from the CDC information, and it is not new information but the same thing they have been saying for years.

“They will go out of their ways to imprison people who do not want to wed gays, however.”

How does the CDC have ANYTHING to do with the current gay wedding chapel mess?

Can anyone find this supposed quote on the DOD’s DTRA site?

“”Ebola is aerostable in an enclosed controlled system in the dark and can survive for long periods in different liquid media”

They supposedly want a rapid WMD analysis on Ebola.

“Aircraft interiors have all kinds of nooks and crannies, soft, absorbent surfaces”

BTW Hydrogen Peroxide will safely sanitize fabrics, and soft absorbent surfaces. Drying might take a while, but no big deal.
You can also fumigate with it to get into nooks and crannies. It has been studied and proven an effective sanitizer. http://www.absa.org/abj/abj/051002meszaros.pdf

It’s an important distinction for the public at large too. People need to learn what words mean. Epidemiologists shouldn’t be forced to make the “dumb person” version of announcements, people should get smart. Especially in this internet age when we’re all one google search away from being able to learn what they mean when they say a disease is not airborne.

I wouldn’t go in your theoretical room because I understand about droplets and I understand that an enclosed space where someone is in the final spew is a very hot zone. But a person that’s just started the illness doesn’t make such a hot zone. Someone that’s still in incubation period doesn’t make a zone hot at all. THAT’S the thing people need to wrap their heads around.

Nurses are the number one at risk group for most illnesses. Because they’re in the hottest of the zones. They’re right there interacting with the patients, and their blood, and feces. It’s a very dangerous job, even when there isn’t an ebola outbreak. They are, as you said, on the front line. But it’s important to understand her situation and your situation are different. And of course there probably won’t even be any pediatric ebola cases in your state, all the more reason to not get so worked up.

HomosexualityExternal Web Site Icon is not a mental disorder, but homophobia, stigma, and discrimination have negative effects on the health of MSM, lesbians, and other sexual minorities. The negative effects

http://www.cdc.gov/msmhealth/mental-health.htm

The agenda of the CDC is well known in terms of attacking dissent and quarantining atmosphere against it.

Yep let her do her first interviews where she will bash Republicans of course..but do the bashing at MSNBC or CNN, let her sit real real close to Wolf Blitzer or Chris Matthews or Joy Reid, oh what fun she will have..maybe they can share drink glasses..like my Mom said, when this woman gets Ebola, give it another week or two its going to happen, I hope the b*tch dies, yeah I said it..she wants to infect all of us then she is not a real nurse..a real nurse would do the moral thing and quarantine herself so that no one gets sick, instead she is pulling a huge hissy fit because she wants to be a martyr..dont give her the blood plasma, save that for her next victim
