NEW YORK (AP) Dr. Craig Spencer, the physician now being treated for Ebola in New York City, is the kind of globe-trotting do-gooder who could walk into a small village in Africa and, even though he didn't know the language, win people over through hugs alone, according to people who worked with him.

Love how lefty doctor that did not care about infecting others running around NY bowling, is a do-gooder but Christian doctors who have self quarantined and remained in their houses are dangerous brain-dead idiots causing harm that need to be stopped in past articles.
ROFL! Priceless!
Dr.Quackenbush,I presume?
Normalcy bias; the belief that you don’t have to change to suit the changed circumstances.
I think it is the arrogance of “I know better, and I know more than you, so there!” attitude many like this have. Self-assured smugness.
This is why yelling “fire” in a crowded theater is illegal.
Causing public panic is illegal. Willful negligence is a crime and this doctor’s assault on the public’s safety should be at least faux prosecuted.
Instead, we have the media court of public opinion, desperately trying to shield this doctor’s behavior from the court of public opinion.
I asked this yesterday and I will ask it again today: It is know that Ebola affects the brain in the late stages and those infected can become “runners,” is it possible that in some people it is affecting areas of the brain that would otherwise discourage such stupid appearing behavior? Is this wanderlust we see actually an early symptom of infection?
Which in tribal Africa would have caused an infected person to wander away from the tribe and potentially stop the infection before it spread.
Which ...if this is the case, then yes, mandatory quarantines is required.
How could you ever tell the difference when infecting liberals? Their belief in their superiority means they do not have to consider anyone but themselves to begin with.
Try hanging out with a few it is sort of horrifying.
Is this guy in Doctors without borders? If he is, aren't most of them do gooders and idealists? I remember Rachel Corrie too. Another idealist.
Hanging out with a few? Uh...I live in an Ohio county that can swing the whole state from conservative to liberal. I know the dystopia of liberal minds very well.
The psyche of the liberal mind may be a contributing factor, but I still find it hard to accept that these “well trained” medical professionals do not know better.
My empathy for them as human beings runs out when they display this ignorant wanderlust. The cost of such behavior in lives, livelihoods, economics, public safety, public trust, and tax payer dollars to clean up their stupid behavior is astounding.
The propaganda of ‘low risk’ is going to fail us. All it takes in circumstances like this is one unknowing person to become affected/infected and never go to an ER, go to a normal Dr., and not fit the profile for having come from West Africa. One unsuspecting, innocent person who has no reason to ever think they have contracted Ebola.
They (government) is playing a deadly game of roulette with the public safety.
Sorry AP. Exposing people to third world diseases does not make a “do-gooder”. It makes an ***hole.
Backfired ¡
I have no objection to his charitable endeavors, but he should have been quarantined before he was let loose onto the public. Perhaps he should have known better to stay home, but I believe the primary fault lies with the Obama administration which refuses to protect us.

Obviously, the Obama Administration is criminally negligent with their fundamental failure to protect American citizens from this African jungle plague.
But, Im sorry. I will NOT give the doctor a free pass. AS A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL HE KNEW BETTER and should have at least had the common sense to self quarantine, regardless of stupidly lackadaisical WHO, MSF, and CDC recommendations .
>> Normalcy bias; the belief that you dont have to change to suit the changed circumstances.
Now there’s a pithy statement to chew on. (Do minds have teeth? If so, mine are probably dentures.)
Thx.
>> If he is, aren’t most of them do gooders and idealists? I remember Rachel Corrie too. Another idealist.
Hmmm... that’s twice, so I don’t think it’s just a typo. So I should let you know that idiot isn’t spelled like that. It’s i-d-i-o-t.
:-)
I don’t think he will be winning too many people over with hugs in the near future.
