FERGUSON, Mo. (AP) — Missouri police have been brushing up on constitutional rights and stocking up on riot gear to prepare for a grand jury's decision about whether to charge a white police officer who fatally shot a black 18-year-old in suburban St. Louis.
The preparations are aimed at avoiding a renewed outbreak of violence during the potentially large demonstrations that could follow an announcement of whether Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson will face a criminal trial for the Aug. 9 death of Michael Brown.
Police and protesters have repeatedly clashed since the shooting, which prompted a national conversation about race and police tactics. Images of officers in riot gear and armored vehicles confronting protesters have drawn widespread criticism.
Many protesters want Darren Wilson indicted for murder. Grand jury proceedings are secret, but legal analysts say recently leaked information about Wilson's testimony to investigators may be an attempt to prepare the public for the possibility that he might not be charged.

Those people remain anonymous. You could have an IMAX movie of the entire incident come out and that still would not satisfy the usual suspects.
This needs to be a huge wakeup to LEOs. Bring them in alive. See? Don’t be judge jury and executioner yourself. In this case, if dumba** Wilson would have called for backup, none of this would have happened.
Several local attorneys have stated it would be nearly impossible to indict Wilson due to Castle Doctrine Law. However, the minute decision is released, many blacks will jump ugly before analyzing the facts. Most others realize this...

Sure, they could drum up the Negro vote with that ploy, but they are just as likely to depress the white liberal urban voters.
Most all the white liberal vote comes from urban areas, the same place the Negro population is located.
A riot around election day might boost the negro vote by 25%, but reduce the white liberal vote by an equal percentage! The math isn’t in their favor.
Agree. If the cop is no billed, based on the evidence thats come out, a heck of a lot of potential Dem voters are going to see it as the right outcome for a justified defensive shooting.
If there are riots there’ll be a major voter backlash, like what happened after the 68 Chicago Dem convention. Additionally, efforts to engage in urban GOTV, and vote fraud, will be disrupted. If it spreads to other states and cities you’ll see guy’s like Mark Warner and Al Franken going down to defeat.
I wonder if the governor has sent a “warning order” to the National Guard?
For those unaware, a “warning order” is an order basically telling a unit to be ready “just in case.” That way preparations can be made ahead of time so the response is faster and more organized.

Most black’s idea of justice is payola not about righting wrongs (or at least the vast majority of events similar to this one I’ve seen in my life having seen it firsthand working as a LEO then later as an investigator). Brown’s family seems to be cashing in on his death quite well even getting into fist fights over who can sell his t-shirts. Willing to bet they have a lot more cash than they used to and are still collecting government benefits while pocketing huge sums of cash from selling swag merchandise, doing media interviews, and receiving donations from activist groups after his death.

I hope that, if the officer is charged, the police walk off the job, with union support. Let the fine people of Ferguson and their guests police themselves.
