The protests will cause votes to shift to Republicans. Almost all blacks that vote were already voting Democrat. Real people in communities that believe in law and order and that could be threatened by racial violence won't vote for politicians who are pandering to the out of control protestors.
I hope that, if the officer is charged, the police walk off the job, with union support. Let the fine people of Ferguson and their guests police themselves.

Cops are different. They have enormous political power, a lot of it stemming from the fact that if they just go passive aggressive things get really bad really quick. The state and local politicians and bureaucrats know this. The national ones (Obama and Holder) just don’t care: they have their own political axes to grind and the latitude to do so.

They would not walk off the job when the Chief publicly groveled before the mob, apologized and took the side of the protesters over his officers. what makes you think that they will walk if Wilson is indicted, which was the sole purpose of convening the Grand Jury?
