The military now has female soldiers escorting former CIA captives around Guantánamos high-value prison, an apparent personnel change that defense lawyers say is causing an uproar over religious insensitivity.
When one captive who had just finished meeting with his attorney refused to be touched by a female soldier, the military called in a special unit to move him using the detention centers tackle-and-shackle technique, a Forced Cell Extraction.
Female U.S. troops are still excluded from detainee groin searches and showers, the detention centers cultural advisor said Thursday. These are male-female issues; it has nothing to do with culture or religion, he said.

Does that sailor in the photo have his/her cover on backwards? The military has gone done the tubes. What a shame.
Dem war on women. It is sexist and mysogynist to not allow women the full rights to search the groins of muslims.
Period.
I am serious.
They had to know this would cause a ruckus.
Just a little "farce" to arouse females to the polls....them equal rights ya know. Give her an apology, a medal and let her peel potatoes....just like the boys did during the war.
Why of course it’s disrespectful and insulting to the prisoners of i-slam faith. Especially if the female escorts aren’t fully covered. After all, women are only one step above dogs in the eyes of the true believers. Somebody needs to file a law suit on behalf of these poor fellows. On second thought, TOO F’n Bad.
Is she a sailor or a Marine? I'm an old Army guy who's not that familiar either with the Navy or the Marines so I'm not sure....but her cover looks Marines to me.And yes,it does appear to be on backwards.
Which is exactly why women need to demand their equal rights to search Muslime ;)
Unbelievable! The inmates are dictating the rules through their tax payer funded attorneys. We are so screwed!
Looks more like a rank insignia on the cover, not an emblem. I’d suggest Navy.
Eff their sensitivity.
Yeah, I’m still trying to figure out what the muzzie female suicide murderers get once they go to pieces? The promise of being left alone by their male counterparts/pieces?
They need transgendered Muslim guards.
Then everybody would be happy.
Oblivion. After a life of islam it must be heaven.
Had to be on backward-the troop is wearing a face shield.
Okay, Ahmed. We'll have her use this...
Look carefully and you will find that both guards have on face shields. The blue band is the headband of said shield. In order to wear a face shield one must rotate the bill of the cover aft.
I agree. Women should not be there. The US is supposed to respect religious values.
Then there's the practical PR issue. This will offend many Muslims globally and cause them to be more sympathetic to the detainees and their religious wars.
Falls into the category of "What's the Point"?
I don’t have a military background, but those uniforms in the picture look pretty sloppy to me.
My father was in the NG, and, as a child, I remember how military he looked in is regular fatigues (this would have been early 70s). Shirt tucked in with belt, polished boots.
The soldiers in the pic on the site look like hospital orderlies with camo scrubs. I guess I haven’t been paying all that much attention to military uniforms, but I know from experience in the business world that when you are dressed well, you carry yourself better and generally act more professional. I would think that would apply to the military as well.
Wait a minute! Wait a minute!
Obama clearly said these terrorists are not Islamic. Therefore, we shouldn’t be concerned about their faux-islamic sensitivities.
FCE team can wear covers backwards with a face shield, which is that blue strap around her head... So you don’t have one of the detainees spitting in your face. They are nasty.
