CDC Chief Frieden on Ebola: Sealing Borders 'Increases People's Distrust of Government'
Breitbart ^ | October 6, 2014 | Dr. Susan Berry

Posted on 10/07/2014 7:44:21 PM PDT by Tolerance Sucks Rocks

On his blog on the website of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), director Dr. Tom Frieden wrote that sealing borders, restricting travel to and from countries with widespread cases of Ebola, and otherwise isolating communities infected with the deadly disease “increases people’s distrust of government, making them less likely to co-operate to help stop the spread of Ebola.”

Frieden added:

I have been asked whether we should stop travel to Liberia. The answer is no: to keep Americans and people in non-affected countries safe, we must continue to work to support efforts to stop the spread of Ebola in Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone. One strategy that won’t stop this epidemic is isolating affecting countries or sealing borders. When countries are isolated, it is harder to get medical supplies and personnel deployed to stop the spread of Ebola. And even when governments restrict travel and trade, people in affected countries still find a way to move and it is even harder to track them systematically.

Frieden continued that restricting travel to and from a community with widespread Ebola would make it more difficult to control the isolated area and would place that country at even greater risk.

“At the United Nations last week, delegates wore buttons that said: Isolate patients, not countries,” Frieden wrote. “The only way to stop the epidemic is to isolate and care for patients, not to quarantine entire communities, areas, or countries. Patients, communities, and countries that are fighting Ebola need our support.”

A guest on NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday, Frieden also said that experimental drugs may help with the spread of Ebola, but added, “The drug pipeline is going to be slow, I’m afraid.”

THESE FREAKING IDIOTS!!

Did you know there's a political campaign going on? The 'pubs have been treating it as a fund-raising event, instead of expressing an appropriate amount of outrage and explaining how all of this will change if the 'pubs get control of the US Senate.

I fear nothing will change. The DC crowd is all into what's good for the globalist elite Saudi-worshipping corporate profiteering DC puppetmasters, both parties.

Sane people know that the US and plenty of other countries have to go back to defining and controlling borders. Otherwise, western civilization is lost. Instead they're still doing the regime-change globalist agenda. Nothing in it for us little folk. The two political parties treating the election like a SuperBowl...back to being friends when the election is over...isn't working as far as saving the nation (and western civilization) is concerned.

The CDC is in the job of increasing Moslem esteem?

Who knew?

That explains their demand for open borders
and no surveillance.

Putting incompetent idiots in positions of protecting public health is what causes Govt distrust.

The answer evades the question

Everyone knows the border can’t be sealed because that would cut off the flow of illegals from the south. That is politically untenable because of part of the horde will take the time and effort to vote for Democrat candidates.

The action should be to discriminate to find those with visas and pass ports from west africa and exclude them until the crisis is over

Saudi Arabia is pulling out all the stops to make sure that ebola does not enter Mecca.
And here we are, what used to be the most blessed and advanced country in the world, going down in a fiery blaze.

The CDC no longer exists to protect public health, but to advance the progressive agenda.

If the folks at the CDC think they're 'citizens of the world' rather than mealy Americans - they should refund 97% of the money we've paid them all these years.

The United States has 3% of the world's population - we'll pay our 3% to these puffed up egomaniacs at the CDC and not a dime more. Now how do they feel?
