The tone of the piece comes across that it is a negative that Israel has that capability. It is good they can defend themselves.
Israel kept it secret for years and years. But, in late 70’s or early 80’s, it was revealed.
And .. I agree .. I’ve very glad Israel has nukes .. they may possibly need them to survive.

It’s possible that only a nuke could do that .. we need to remember that when Isaiah gave that prophecy, Damascus was the only city listed in that region - and it was not even noted yet to be a country called “Syria”.

Yes Israel got small amounts of enriched weapons grade materials but Israel has had nuke plants for many years and a fraction of its speculated 200 warheads and bombs are from these initial early day supplies.
To get that many nukes Israel has to have a robust processing of its own and a darn good one.
Remember the Jews Like Einstein were early nuke experts, and a lot of Russian engineers like Sharansky came to Israel in the 1970’s.
Its spoiled grapes that those that want to disarm Israel decry her having them.
Only if Iran attacks with nukes would Israel use them.
So if we don’t like that Iran is going to have the Bomb, do we get to blame Carter, both the Clintons and Obama? How about if we don’t like the mess in the middle east do we get to blame Carter, both the Clintons and Obama?

With the memories of the 1968 and 1972 wars, there is no reason to BLAME Nixon, in aiding a sovereign free Israel have the upper hand of all the Arab nations that wish Israel, gone.
Their capability is highly minuscule compared to what U.S.,Russia, China, or European nations are capable of what they have is some small tactical nukes with a small yield. Most of what their nukes would do would be massacre a large invading ground force.
Okay, I’ll give Nixon the credit.
