By DANIEL BATES 16 August 2014 A couple hundred defiant protesters remained on the streets of Ferguson after a midnight curfew took effect Saturday night after as a first photo emerged showing the officer who gunned down unarmed black teen Michael Brown. Hundreds of other demonstrators left peacefully before the midnight to 5am deadline took effect Sunday morning.
Remaining protesters mingled, chanted the words, 'no justice, no curfew,' and taunted police. Officers dressed in riot gear were keeping their distance.

Actually, if you really look at the problem, you will find that it has little to do with the shooting but more to do with the opportunity to do things that the police will prosecute. Free goods and no prosecution...
Actually, I’d suspect that most of those responsible are from out of town and have no conflict with looting local stores. Others would stop them if possible but are not going to do so but might join in and gather goods.
That is a problem and it is almost wholly racial (Black) ... When other races join in this activity, then I will adjust my thinking... That is a shame because their are decent African Americans (or Blacks) that have joined the work force as Americans.
I am so ashamed that this is happening in my home state. Shame on them .Get tough . No breaks for lawless rioters and looters. Take the gloves off . No more paddycake . This is NOT Obama’s United Negro State of Americolor.
You are so right of blacks. Those that educated themselves as ND have moved into the work force look at life and accomplishment differently. Those who have never broken loose from the poverty cycle continue the cycle.
It takes love,diligence and a strong will to break that cycle but it can be done. I have lived in a mixed neighborhood for the last ten years and have seen both kinds.

The people of that town are “responsible” for how their city turned into a cesspool of lawless, whitey hating, “special rights” animals over the past 30 years.
The black culture there has no intention in conforming to mainstream human culture for they have been trained in over two generations that they don’t have to obey laws and they are special because their ancestors were slaves.
Well, why didn’t indentured white servants from Europe take the same attitude and request special privileges from society too?

That is the liberal media’s talking point, but I watched over an hour of live video report in front of one of the stores being looted yesterday.
The news reporter said they were hauling the loot back to an apartment complex a couple blocks away. It went on for hours, and the police stood watching from down the street.
The news reporter said they kept coming back, and each trip there were more with them.

When does the taxpayer get justice? How many trillions have we spent for this?

The police at all levels have their eyes on this crowd and they are assisted by local camera crews taking close-up videos.
So they know who the small group of troublemakers are and they are the same ones every night.
The local residents are pointing them out to the police and asking that they be detained.
So why are the police refusing to do it?????????
Why are they allowing the rabble to incite the crowd when it could be shut down in no time???
And why are people on this forum not asking the same questions???
They have not looted enough, there are flat screens, beer wine liquor meat and furniture to be had. Setting a dangerous president when law inforcement is told to stand down and allow the cretans to comitt crimes. The law abiding citizenry should sue the state for damages to thier businesses as well as for thier safety
Did I say that I wanted anything to burn? No. The assumption that I advocate such is specious and argumentative, which I am not being in my post.

By looking at a satellite map you can see the housing complex that Brown was shot is very close to the business area getting looted. The narrative is that the looters are from somewhere else, but many could be from that neighborhood and surrounding streets - Ferguson residents.
