You may recall that on Friday, in what would have been a Christmas Miracle were it not several months early, Congress actually got something done. It was the passage of a bill approving $225M in funding for Israels Iron Dome defensive missile system. It was quite the bipartisan effort in retrospect, garnering an overwhelming 395 votes in the House with only eight in opposition. One of those eight was Minnesota Congressman Keith Ellison, and as The Corner reports, he went out on the weekend gab circuit to explain why he didnt support the measure.
Because a cease-fire is what we should prioritize now, he said when asked to explain his vote on Meet the Press. A cease-fire protects civilians on both sides it doesnt just say, Were only concerned about people on one side.
He pointed to the devastation he witnessed during his trips to Gaza.
Lets go to the brief video, and then well carry on below that.

Fixed it.
Dear Communist,
Thank you so much for being part of my people-powered grassroots campaign.
I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your support. Without folks like you standing with us, we would not be able to fight back against big corporate money like the Koch Brothers.
When progressives work together we are unstoppable, and we need to come together again in 2014.
We have had some important victories already this year. We secured a wage increase for federal contract workers to $10.10/hr, kept the chained CPI Social Security benefits cuts off the table, and fought back the 52nd attempt to repeal the Affordable Care Act.
While I continue to advocate for job creation, comprehensive immigration reform, protecting Social Security, and equality for ALL people, Tea Party Republicans in Congress are obstructing us from making progress at every turn.
As I do everything in my power to help solve Americas challenges and expand Americas opportunities, I want you to let me know which priorities you want me to focus on in 2014.
Communist, click here to fill out a short survey about what issues get you fired up the most.
We have accomplish a lot, but theres a lot of hard work ahead to make 2014 a success. Lets stay engaged, informed, and keep organizing so we can continue moving forward.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
-Keith

Yes he is a Muslim and is probably afraid they will have a fatwa against him if he actually voted approval of funding Israel’s Iron Dome program. Although that is giving hi an ‘out’.
Ellison is not a likely vote to approve anything that is even remotely neutral on Israel and the Jews. He is an anti-Semite.
And Al Franken
His homeboy at DOJ won't be there forever.
OH, and one more thing - if you want to help the conservatives in Minnesota, you ought to help us elect some more conservatives to the US congress.
I am sick and tired of some Freepers here making broad, stupid comments about my state. Keith Ellison represents his district which is in Minneapolis and largely minority of a certain race, which shall not be mentioned. My representative is Michelle Bachmann. Do you have a problem with her too?
We curently have 2 races in Minnesota’s 7th and 8th congressional districts that are trending against the incumbent Democrats. The Republican candidates would appreciate some funding. These Democrats get lots of money from California liberals. The candidates are: Stuart Mills (MN 8th District) against Rick Nolan; and Torrey Westrum (MN 7th District) against Collin Peterson.
I have donated to both of these candidates. It would be nice if some of you complainers about MN politicians would help us out here.
Ellison didn’t vote for funding the iron dome because he is in league with the Hamas terrorists - plain and simple.
omg
Justin Amash voted against?? (And Mark Sanford??) Jeez.
Mark Sanford should take a hike.

Iron dome, a DEFENSIVE system. ... You cannot morally strip defenses to force an outcome. That is barbaric - saying we want to help inflict more casualties. Those 8 ought to be ashamed.
Keith Ellison is the one guy in the House who doesn’t really need to explain his vote. It’s pretty obvious where his loyalties are.
There’s nothing for Ellison to explain. Like Obama, we know what he wants.
Did you read my comment "It is a joint venture. US taxpayers want to support Israel's right to exist, and especially for a defensive anti-missile system that works. The US may need to use it to defend against missile attacks on us or other allies. There is a real and present danger that allows the system to be tested, improved, and retested." 1. Do you understand it ? 2. Do you agree or disagree with it ?
We should elect a president who will defend our borders, and then spend money to defend our borders.
He and his ilk is just what they are haters and baiters, he should be forced out of congress for aiding and abetting the terrorists.
Jessie Ventura, Keith Ellison and Al Frankin, the most notable people from Minnesota. What a loser State!!
That photo ought to be carried around and shoved in the faces of all the Islamist apologists when they rail about Israeli “aggression.”
It’s time to take care of America and our vets, our infrastructure, our parks and our elderly instead of foreign countries. There isn’t a day goes by when we do not hear about our massive debt.
It isn’t that I do not support Israel, but I do have a problem being forcibly taxed to do so, when there is stuff that needs taken care of in America, like securing our own borders. Those that have the wherewithal and wish to donate then give to Israel. I have a problem when Americans are put on the hook for aid to any other country. That aid should be voluntary.
