A hard-won internationally brokered truce between Israel and Palestinian militants collapsed within hours Friday after the Israeli military said one of its soldiers was missing amid heavy fighting in the southern Gaza Strip and may have been captured by Hamas fighters.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stopped short of declaring the cease-fire dead, but accused Hamas of “flagrantly violating” what was to have been a three-day truce. Hamas in turn insisted it was Israel that had broken the cease-fire terms agreed to only hours earlier.
Although Netanyahu distanced himself from personally announcing the breakdown of the truce – as he has done with previous cease-fires – a separate government statement said Israel had officially notified U.N. Mideast envoy Robert Serry that the truce was over, citing Hamas aggression.
“Israel announces that Hamas has thus ended the humanitarian cease-fire and prevented the residents of Gaza from benefiting from it,” the statement said, adding that Israel would take “strong action” against Hamas and other militants operating in Gaza.

The slant of the headline and first few paragraphs is disgustingly anti-Israel. It didn’t collapse amid heavy fighting. It collapsed when Hamas sent a suicide bomber through a tunnel into an area under Israeli control, and the suicide bomber blew himself up, killing two solders. By doing that hencreated a momentary confusion that enabled the abduction of Hadar Goldin, an Israeli soldier from Kfar Sava, Israel. Those who pray in the Jewish style will want to know his name and his mother’s name when asking G-d for mercy. It is Hadar ben Hedva Lea.
All my life I have heard of “peace plans” and “cease fires”. Not one has lasted a week. How can any newsie talk about this with a straight face? How can any sane person think any negotiation is possible after so many hundreds of identical peace plan failures?

2. Any moron would know that HAMAS would not, could not keep to the ceasefire. It's not in their nature. If they see an opening, they'll kill or attempt to kill the kafir. And lo and behold, they did not keep the ceasefire.
3. Obama has switched sides in the war on terror, he's on the terrorists side. Putin and some others around the world have noticed this also. When is the American Military going to protest this?

It is fundamentally impossible to have a truce with terrorists. How about these ‘negotiators’ set the stage for a truce by first insisting that both sides obey the internationally agreed upon laws of war....wearing uniforms, not randomly firing rockets at civilians, etc.
If they can’t even get them to follow the most basic of guidelines, why one earth would they trust them in a ‘truce’?

Not only did they use suicide bombers for the ruse, they fired 6 salvos of missiles of 5-10 in each salvo just a few hours into the cease fire firing them into Israel. They never had any intention of keeping the cease fire
BiBi, I hope that you finally understand that it is time to finish off Hamas. There is no reasoning or dealing with them, they only want to destroy Israel and kill it’s people. Tell Kerry and Obama to stuff it.
I pray that there are some sane people in charge who can look at the total picture and stop the insanity.
Kerry was rushing to the cameras and microphones to take credit for this "ceasefire." It was a moment of ultimate narcissism.
The conflict between Israel and her murderous neighbors is one of Good vs. Evil. It is God vs. Satan.
Kerry and Obama are on the side of Hell.
Quick, Kerry, write out another big check to Hamas.
Extermination is the only answer to such evil.
