California Republican Congressman Darrell Issa indicated Sunday that upcoming testimony from Internal Revenue Service Commissioner John Koskinen could further incriminate embattled former IRS official Lois Lerner.
Either Lois Lerners attorney is outright not telling the truth or the commissioner was inaccurate in his testimony before Congress, Issa said on Fox News Sunday. Now the lawyer, Mr. (William) Taylor, is not under oath. The commissioner is.
Issa, chairman of the House Committee On Oversight and Government Reform, was referring to statements made by Lerners legal team that contradicted claims made by Koskinen during recent House testimony. Lerner, former director of the tax agencys Exempt Organizations Division, was a leader in an IRS campaign to target conservative and Tea Party groups for abuse and suppression. Last year she pled her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination before Congress, and she resigned soon afterward. More recently the IRS has claimed that it misplaced a trove of emails relating to Lerners potentially criminal actions.
Issa noted that Koskinen has asked for a chance to clarify his earlier testimony, adding that the evidence could underscore Lerners role in the widening IRS scandal.
It probably will make us understand that Lois Lerners attorney continues to profess her innocence, when were long past the question of guilt, Issa said She broke rules; she broke the law; and she continues to hide under the Fifth Amendment, which is her right. But lets understand: She is in fact a person whos been referred for criminal prosecution.

I think this criminal enterprise (AKA the Obama administration) will run out the clock ‘til the next inauguration. The day before, Obama will start issuing pardons.
He’ll be up all night signing the damned things.
AND THE REPUBLICANS ARE GOING TO LET THIS HAPPEN.
So, Mizz Lerner may not escape jail time by taking the Fifth as a protection.
The rest of your post is spot on.

I don't think the Dems will be able to run out the clock in the Lerner investigation/stonewalling developments till the next presidential campaign begins in earnest or till inauguration day in D.C.
I'm convinced the GOP sleuths would not be investing this much time, energy and taxpayers' money in this case if they didn't ALREADY have enough damning evidence safely in hand.
What we're seeing now is the "flipping" process underway to ice the cake. John Koskinen, the new IRS comish, has already phoned into congress central to "clarify" his previous sworn testimony. Hah!
Watch for other under-reported clues in the next two weeks....the dominos are starting to fall - I have little to zero doubt.

Well... I hope you’re right.
But I have little faith in Darryl Issa.
If you want to give up why are you here? Really - you jump to the top of the thread with the message ‘it’s all hopeless, democrats are too smart for us’... It’s Tokyo Rose stuff... “give up Americans, the Japanese are too powerful for you”...
Actually, a criminal referal on Lerner was sent to the Injustice Department around the 9th of April. Of course, Holder has done nothing, afterall his sworn duty is to preserve, protect and defend obama’s reputation against all enemies, particularly Tea Party enemies.
The ball has been in Holder’s court for months. I know that the default opinion here at FR is “why hasn’t Issa (or Boehner, or Camp) thrown Lerner and Holder in jail” but we have a little problem there, and it is called the Consitution of the United States and the separation of powers. Yes, yes, yes, (and again yes) I know that there is an implied constitutional power of congress to arrest and hold recalcitrant witnesses. The problem there is that it is not an enumerated power of congress, and it rests on rather murky ground (as I see it) in case law. That, coupled with the ability of the dem propaganda machine (CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC, etc.) to scream and blare distortion and lies made it impossible to gain by incarcerating Lerner or Holder. At the very time that the criminal referal was sent, Elijah Cummings was huffing and puffing about McCarthyism. In my opinion, incarcerating Lerner at that time would have backfired big time.
We may be getting to a sweet spot. Koskinen wants to amend his sworn testimony (likely further incriminating Lerner) and then the two court actions this week are likely to fall in the direction we want them to fall. If this does not get eclipsed by a Marrieta showdown, or the emergency evacuation of the embassy in Baghdad, or both, we might see a special counsel appointment real soon. In any event, the True the Vote suit will continue, so regardless of what happens in congress, this one will not completely die.
Agreed. Plame was much ado about nothing. The Lerner affair is a criminal conspiracy involving high federal officers.
I have to disagree on the immunity thingy... Lois Lerner is a gangster, has been going back to her work for the FEC [elections]. She has committed serious Constitutional abuses going back long before Ob@ma.
Also, as you say, immunity is useless because without a prosecutor and threat of prison to various, the Democrap Communist Ruling Oligarchy is going to take care of her One way or the other!
