Years ago, impeaching President Obama wouldve seemed like an impossibility, but with scandals and corruption leaking out of every nook and cranny of the White House, the likelihood of accomplishing such a Herculean feat has dramatically increased.
Hot off the heels of a disastrous negotiation with terrorists, an Iraqi crisis, and several congressional investigations into the VA scandal, IRS targeting, and Benghazi cover up, the movement calling for Obamas impeachment has gone mainstream.
House Republicans claim the votes are there to move forward on impeachment, and to further prove the seriousness of all the fervor, Speaker Boehner is set to file a lawsuit against the president.
All of this has liberal Democrats very, very nervous.
A recent email blast sent out by the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee says that if Republicans win the Senate, impeachment is all-but-certain.
Heres the DLCC email:
Washington Post: President Obama will be impeached Add Your Name: Stop the Tea Party impeachment
Just days after Republicans in Congress claimed they probably have the votes to impeach President Obama in the House, theWashington Post reports that impeachment is all-but-certain if Republicans win this falls elections.
The ONLY reason Republicans are pursuing impeachment is because they dont like that President Obama defeated them in the last election. We CANNOT let this stand.
We need you to speak out now to stop the Tea Partys impeachment agenda please add your name today!
A growing list of top Republicans are lining up to support impeachment, and some right-wing legislators are already taking steps to make it a reality.
Tea Partiers in Congress are giving speeches calling impeachment a dream come true, and the official Republican Party Convention in South Dakota actually PASSED a resolution demanding that the President be thrown out of office!
This has already gone way too far: Speak out now to STOP the Tea Party impeachment!
Sincerely,
Kevin Boyd Regional Strategist Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee
This is good news. Liberals should absolutely be terrified of the possibility that Obama could be given a pink slip. If he falls, so does their agenda. The removal of the president spells the end of their attempts to fundamentally transform America, and buys some time for America to start down the path to recovery.
Americans must continue to bombard their representatives and demand they stay the course and make sure the president is brought to justice.
Please share this article on Facebook and Twitter if you agree that the Democrats have every reason to fear the impeachment of Barack Obama.
No one is going to impeach Obama as long as he’s black. The wailing of “RACIST” would ring far and wide.
No one would be able to handle it.
Fear it? obummer’s machinations are a millstone around the necks of all dims seeking election or re-election.
They should hope for his impeachment and then blame it all on the evil Republicans. Rid of him with the opposition as fall guys - that should, and may very will, be their goal.
That's exactly what I thought. Without some video evidence of Obama in a compromising position with a 12 year-old boy or farm animal, thee's no way the Republicans would get anywhere near enough Dems to impeach.
I suppose if somehow the November election results bring huge losses for the Dems, perhaps they would be willing to get rid of the baggage...odds are unlikely.
The pressitudes, Journ-0-Lists, lame stream media, driveby media, democratic party spokesmen; whatever you call them, are going to try to get any and all Republican/TEA party/Conservatives to admit that the COULD impeach for actual reasons (called High Crimes and Misdemeanors) and then extrapolate from there, to wit:
“Candidate Such-and-such, running for democrat Senator So-and-so’s seat in X state, today said he backs impeachment against President Obama.” Followed by some archive tape of some Klansman marching, skin head/neo-Nazis/white supremacists doing whatever they do. Followed by direct quote from Elijah Cummings or Hank Johnson or Sheila Jacskon-Lee, “Frankly, we saw this day coming for the first Black president in our history. They could not let him go unchallenged, such is their hatred.”
I don’t think we will take the Senate. I think we will lose Mississippi and Kentucky due to the RINOs in the seats and good conservatives leaving this seat blank. We will probably pick up a seat or two. I thought for sure we would take the Senate a few weeks ago but I don’t believe so now. And even if McDaniels somehow gets the nomination, the Cochran folks won’t vote for McDaniels so the Democrat will win either way.
Hillary wants to be President. Have you noticed all the stories lately about the feud between the Obama's and the Clinton's ? Hill and Bill would love for Obama to be out of the picture. So it is not an impossible task.
I absolutely agree. Boner and the gope trash will huff and puff and then do nothing. All this impeachment talk is just to try and sucker some conservatives into continuing to support the gope trash.
It’s almost better to let him take the whole corrupt democrat party down with him...
“All but certain? Id like to think so, but even if the Rs take seven or eight seats to make it 52-48 or something like that, they still would need more than a dozen Dem senators for the 67 needed for impeachment.”
Argh.
That is for removal by the Senate.
The HOUSE impeaches.
The Senate removes by 2/3 vote.
Senators do NOT impeach.
Dear Mrs. Woodward: Thank you for contacting me about the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). I appreciate hearing from you on this important issue. Like you, I am concerned by corruption, waste, and abuse in any agency of government, including the IRS. It is troubling to hear allegations that the IRS targeted certain organizations for additional scrutiny based on inappropriate considerations or that misconduct could have caused significant delays in the approval of applications for tax-exempt status. To get to the bottom of these issues, the Senate Committee on Finance is undertaking a bipartisan investigation into the actions of the IRS. As Chair of the Committee, I will ensure that these investigations are completed and that the IRS officials involved are held accountable for their actions.
Going forward, it is clear that reforms are needed in the way the IRS processes applications for tax-exempt status and, more fundamentally, drastic overhauls of the campaign finance system are critical. Because of the high cost of campaigns, individuals and groups with large sums of money are given undue influence in the process, and this must change. Enhancing disclosure requirements for political spending and preventing corporations from coordinating with political parties and candidates can create more transparency in the election process. Transparency is critical to ensuring an adequately informed electorate, and I will continue to push for greater transparency and accountability on these fronts.
The integrity of the tax system is critically important to the proper operation of government. Recent news reports of excessive spending by IRS employees and other misconduct create a genuine threat to the confidence the American public has in those tasked with administering the law. While the misconduct of a few should not tarnish the reputation of the vast majority of employees who work hard and consistently play by the rules, it is imperative that Congress takes the necessary steps to ensure that all government employees are working for the taxpayers benefit. As Chair of the Finance Committee, I take very seriously the oversight responsibility it has with respect to the IRS and other agencies, and you can be assured that I will continue to monitor their activities and fight for increased government accountability and efficiency.
Thank you again for keeping me apprised of the issues that are important to you. If I may be of further service, please do not hesitate to contact me. Sincerely, Ron Wyden United States Senator
Devastating elections in November combined with the focus then being on 2016, anything could happen. Obama continues to do everything he can to poke his finger in Congress’ eye essentially daring them to impeach him. November 2014 everything changes. The Clinton feud will likely be full blown by then, and backroom deals to toss Zero with Biden naming Hillary as VP. While Biden wants to run, the powers that be will convince him he will get to be president for only two years as he will be too damaged as Zero’s VP to credibly run in 2016, while Clinton will be portrayed as the next savior of the Democrat party.
Lots of chits will be called in when the Clinton’s have the opportunity.
One of Democrat's last 'cards' is the 'victim cards'
Think Ken Starr circus and the 40 million to get Bill Clinton. The press is chomping at the bit...
A Plan: take down the IRS criminals, stir the pot on Benghazi, highlight the VA, and plan an impeachment for well after midterms.
Must be careful NOT to make Biden the incumbent... Biden's just as bad, but without the baggage...
By early next year if we are in leg two of the Great Recession, while other scandals mount, even Dems might consider impeachment.
+1
We're stuck with this idiot for the duration.
Making Biden an incumbent would be bad for Hillary. IF I had to pick between the two, Plugs would get my vote for sure.
But I thought the only reason Republicans don't like Obama is because he's black.
Obama will never be impeached. That would be certain civil war and/or extreme violence from blacks.
The only hope is that they can actually limit and reverse some of the crap he will be pulling the final years of his Presidency.
If the dicktater tries to stay in office, then all bets are off, impeach him and let the Civil War begin.
Regardless, I'm not interested in simply a political statement of President Obama by the House for impeachment; I want him impeached and removed, but knowing how spineless the Senate would be for such tastes, I doubt it could happen.
