If the recent firestorm over Hillary Clinton's claims of poverty upon leaving the White House with huge debt was meant to send the former First lady a message, clearly she didn't get it.
Seemingly unwilling to let go of the 'I'm one of the little people' meme for what would be a populist positioning as a White House candidate in 2016, today in The Guardian, she's all but crying poor, again.

The thing is that the “Robber Baron” decedents tend not to be doing as well as the Clintons.

Does she really think people believe that junk?
The true believers are really stupid. I saw them on twitter yesterday tweeting about how Hillary would be the "true" anti war president.

Argh, can’t someone shut this imbecile up? A normal, mentally healthy person would be embarrassed to say this crap.

I think I read that the average (or median...can't recall which) net worth of American households is around 100K.I'm not sure of the figures but I recall being shocked by how low it was.Ten bucks says that they're in the top 0.5% of American households in both net worth and annual income.Which,of course, would put them in the top 0.0001% of households worldwide.

Oh, she's vile, but there are plenty of people a head of her - Reid, BHO, etc.
IIRC, she got an $8M book advance when her hubby's final term was about to expire. Managed to get it into the year 2000, and not 2001, as her hubby's tax rates for the rest of us were set to skyrocket again...
To: kingattax
Right. I feel truly sorry for them that they’ve not achieved being billionaires yet ... but soon.

The Clintons are overflowing with greed. 100 million isnt enough for them. Here's a calculation for you. In 2008, it was disclosed that the Clintons had made $109m since leaving the White House (mostly speaking fees, consulting fees, and book royalties). How much would that weigh?
Well, $109m is 10,900 standard bank bundles (100 $100 bills). A $100 bill weighs slightly less than a gram. So, throw in the bundle wrapper and say each bundle is 100 grams (paper wrapper, not the foil former Congressman William Jefferson, D-LA, used). That means the Clintons' fortune weighs 1,090,000 grams, or about 2,403 pounds. A long ton of money!
That was six years ago. They must be worth considerably more by now.

..."because we pay ordinary income tax...and we've done it through dint of hard work"I just want to barf any time I hear a politician, especially a silver spoon in mouth Democrat, talk about "hard work." Most of these people never worked a day in their lives, especially the Clintons and the current occupier of the WH. She's a connected, scheming, conniving, communist bitch and it's all of her crony connections as First Lady that poured money all over her.
These days she gets paid $200,000 (not including expenses such as air travel and hotels) per speech these days to deliver something written by her lackeys.
"Hard Work" -- Bah!!

You’re right. Keeping your lies straight, maintaining a straight face, and extreme contortions are very challenging.

Romney paid 3 million in income tax. I guess he isn’t “well off” either.

"But they don't see me as part of the problem," she protests, "because we pay ordinary income tax, unlike a lot of people who are truly well off, not to name names; and we've done it through dint of hard work," she says, letting off another burst of laughter.Even she couldn't say it with a straight face.
