WASHINGTON (AP) Republican tea party forces are rejoicing and the party establishment is somber or altogether silent in the wake of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor's primary defeat at the hands of political neophyte David Brat, an unflinching foe of loosening immigration laws.
Speaker John Boehner praised Cantor as "a good friend and a great leader, and someone I've come to rely upon on a daily basis" in a statement that steered clear of the issue that Brat put at the center of his campaign and has divided the party for years.

Time to depose Boehner!
That says it all...
I’m all for that.
100%.
I read that none of the major Tea Party organizations gave support or endorsed Brat. If true, maybe the Tea Party groups need to do some self examination.
I don’t get the Freepers here. I thought we weren’t doing “the lesser of two evils”.
So a Catholic College professor is okay now?
Boehner’s willingness to compromise to Rats is what is so infuriating. When was the last time Pelosi compromised to get a Republican bill through?
This is the second post I’ve seen from you about ‘Catholic’. What’s your problem with it?
Yes. Yes we are. ; )
“..at the hands of political neophyte...”
The framers of the US Constitution must be cheering in their graves. They did not want the country being run by professional politicians. They would be pleased with a conservative economics professor - and a religious one. Yes, a good day for America!
Did I miss something?? Catholic or Professor makes no difference as long as their values are conservative. Content of character only matters.
While I’m not in the 7th district of VA, what I hear happened is that Cantor concentrated on Washington and the GOPe and sorta ignored his constituents. I wouldn’t call that the lesser of two evils. And OBTW, Randolph Macon College isn’t a ‘Catholic College’. Or is your bitch with a college professor who happens to be a Catholic?

We know he's against amnesty.
And it's a good thing that the liberal republican Majority Leader of the House got fired.

Alan Colmes is heartbroken right now. He’s afraid this is going to hurt the Republicans in November. Alan likes the Republicans and wants them to win elections. LOL! What a clown.
Amen to that! It’s time for all Catholics to rediscover their roots and vote for pro-family prolife candidates, not the Pelosis, Kennedys, bidens and such that will probably split hell wide open for their promurder, progay antifamily votes!
The GOP still doesn’t GET IT.
Just parroting Liberal BS and calling it ‘representation’ is NOT going to fly!
One GOPe down but more to go!
If he opposes the church on amnesty, yes. As for the professor of college thing, that is one step better than a lawyer.
I agree. Experienced politicians, experienced ESTABLISHMENT REPUBLICAN politicians ever since the days of Newt Gingrich’s Contract for America was thrown to the woodpile with his resignation over pants around his ankles have given us nothing but bloated spending, CLOTURE SHOW VOTES, debt ceiling increases and a plethora of other appeasing, across-the-aisle relinquishments of our freedoms.
They play at doing something about Obamacare, bluster and parade like peacocks at the IRS, Benghazi, NSA, FBI, DOJ et al yet accomplish NOTHING!
In the end, all they can do is pander to the Chamber of Commerce and worker-hungry business while they are ‘offended’ when we call their efforts Amnesty as if it were an epithet. Well, dammit, it IS an epithet! WHATEVER they call it, whatever they’re trying to do is anti-sovereignty and it is just another action that is giving away our future. I don’t care what in the hell they call it. They can stuff it. All of them.
