I’m sorry, but it wasn’t the gun. It was the godless maniac behind the gun.

Don’t intend to be harsh but my father was killed by a sat nite special during a holdup. He was ill prepared to confront violence as were these boys.
If this dad had taught his son to carry and use a gun he would likely be alive today and his assailant dead. The solution to gun crime is to arm the victim, not the criminal.

And nothing about the real problem: the mentally ill.

The three men stabbed to death by Rodgers were his roommates in a “sheltered residence” apartment for the mentally ill. Supposedly he was supervised by therapists.

His parents and the therapists asked the police to check on him because he had been posting violent things on social media. The cops determined that he was ok...based on what? Are they psychiatrists? Plus they’re terrified of being sued if they order an involuntary committal, since the “mental health advocates” have made this practically impossible and a highly risky thing for the person or agency who orders it.

He bought the guns legally. If he was so ill as to have to live in a sheltered residence, why was there nothing in his record that would have enabled the gun dealer to see it when he checked the purchase? It’s not the dealer’s fault, or because the laws on guns aren’t strict enough.

It’s because there’s a problem on how to handle the mentally ill. Blaming “guns” is a convenient excuse.

A hateful Hollywood liberal rich kid kills similar. Any surprise maybe he went to Kerry’s global warming knew he was problem and fixed it.

As sympathetic as I can be for someone who has lost their child, I would still comment that this grief has become a tool of controllers of lives who have no intention of fulfilling ordinary peoples’ dreams or desires. their success in furthering their goals will have no impact, nor would have on his life.

He would be better served condemning the filth sh!thole that Hollywood and urban California has become with its inclusion, diversity, need for government to solve all problems, and a general disrespect for the rest of the citizens in this country.

It has created untold numbers of privileged asswipes of celebrity like the Kardashians, children of entertainment and media luminaries, and all their wannabe hangers on and former celebs whose entire pastimes seem to be pursuit of excess (see, Lohan, Reid, Beiber, Cyrus, et al). And when they don’t get it, they rebel in their own childish and deluded ways.

A soon as I heard about this I immediately concluded one thing, it was NOT the action of someone who actively and sincerely follows Jesus.

My next thought was....it was either a follower of Mohammad or an Insane Fanatic...but I repeat myself.

I pray for the man and his family. A tragedy. As to the gun control ramblings from this man, grief is talking, not common sense.

Tragic but what if he had been killed by a car instead?
Much more common than gun deaths. Would he had called for banning cars?

The father is more political than rational. Watched him on TV and he sounds as crazy as the murderer doe in his rants.

So we have this guy crying for gun control and totally neglecting his role in this tragedy. He was the closest to the problem and yet did nothing but provide lip service. Typical lib.

Mr. Martinez, I am very sorry for your loss, but you are wrong about the cause. Your analogy that the gun was at fault, would be like saying that Hitler didn’t kill 6 million Jews, it was the zyklon-b pellets.

The guy has an agenda. Eliminate or control your rights to own and use guns.

The gun was not laying there, planning for someone to come along so it could kill them. He should know that guns are only objects to be used by responsible people in a responsible manner.

He should be faulting the crazy guy who planned the murders, not the object he used to commit the murders. The latter could have been swords, ropes, knives, pencils, arrows, even rocks. The list is endless.

He should be calling for more debate on mental illness and its causes, detection, diagnosis, and cure; not the objects crazies use to fulfil their evil desires.

Put up a sign that says “Gun Free Zone.” That should work.

There is precedent. We used to have a terrible drug plague in this country. Then we passed laws against drugs. Now that problem is gone.

We need to take instruction from the War on Drugs, because it has been so successful at eliminating the drug scourge and disempowering the drug cartels.

Suddenly, the parallels with the movie ‘Heathers’ stand out. Truly one of the more sarcastic movies ever made, it shows the imbecility and hypocrisy that comes out in people when their children go homicidally or suicidally bonkers, and in embarrassing ways.
