An immense explosion has been heard throughout the northern Iranian city of Qazvin, semi-official Fars news agency reported, and many casualties are expected from the blast.
Around 1.1 million people live in the city, which is located about 100 miles north of Tehran.
The blast may be related to nuclear development in Iran, according to the Los Angeles Times. Iranian officials in the past have strongly denied claims by Mujahedin Khalq Organization, or MKO, a cult-like Iranian exile group, that it has a secret nuclear enrichment facility in Abyek, near the major city, according to the daily.
The source of the blast remains undetermined. Several mystery explosions have been reported in the past several years in the region, none of which were ever verified.
A fire has now broken out in the city, local reports say, and as many as 50 people are injured. State media blames an oil depot for the blast.

“Neocon” means “New conservative.” The term originated to describe a group of liberal intellectuals who decided to support the war against Communist North Vietnam. They disagreed with the idea, “better red than dead.”
The word gradually took on other meanings. Many of the original Neocons happened to be Jewish. And the liberal propagandists played the usual word games with the term “Neocon,” until they turned it into a term of disgrace.
Originally it applied to those who opposed people like Jane Fonda. But from Vietnam it was transferred to Israel, as well as Iraq. Or any other war that the libs disapprove of.
It’s not going to get any easier to tell the trolls from the wide-eyed newbies.
I wouldn’t have minded such a rule if I knew the reason for it. I lurked for a
long time before signing up.
No. That was the first I thought of it. But it could be more trouble than it’s worth.

Who says Mujahedin Khalq Organization, or MKO, is cult-like...? Is the LA Times sloppily parroting the (Iranian State run) FAR News agenda? Why it was Hillary Clinton herself that lobbied for their removal from the list of terrorist organizations. We all know how competent Hillary Clinton is on maters of foreign policy and covert action.
Sloppy work LA Times, sloppy work! This is no way to support Hillary Clinton.
Kind of fitting a Zot would occur on a thread such as this. But back to the news...
...any more word on what caused the explosion?
If you’re trying to spot a troll or fake conservative just apply the Goldwater test: “What would Barry say/do”? If you don’t have a copy of his book Conscience of a Conservative you need one. Mine’s published 1963.
Thanks!
No one is always good but Muslims are always bad. You can count on it.

That was the rationale behind the treason of the "Atomic Spies", remember Klaus Fuchs & the others ?
Boo to you!(just kidding...though Me and windows 8.1 get along just fine as I operate from the desk top environment.)
Updates?
Guess they’ll have to give the reporter responsible his walking papers, unless Hillary wanted them removed from the terror list BECAUSE of their cult-like nature.
Some I won over, and others, not so much, but I hold no prejudice against any of them after what they
have been through for centuries as a people.
What ultimately frustrates me about American Jews is ONLY their overwhelming propensity to vote lib/dem. Ugh. And, why?
Conversely, even the most liberally disposed Israeli I ever knew was more likely to favor American conservative viewpoints and candidates. And of course Netanyahu can be my president every day of the week and twice on Sunday. But I digress.
That American Jews vote Democrat en bloc has always been a mystery to me.
And the fact that our El Prissydentay has openly stated that he “will side with
the muslims” in a recorded campaign speech in front of hundreds of observers
even deepens the conundrum.
